Publisher's Summary

Jacky Leon isn’t someone who goes looking for trouble. She owns a bar, pays her taxes, and serves her drinks cold outside a small town in Texas. The fact that she’s a werecat is just something she’s had to live with. Alone in her territory, she’s lived a secretive life for six years: under the radar, avoiding her past and the baggage that comes with it.

Trouble finds Jacky, though, in the form of an 11-year-old girl and a werewolf turf war just outside her borders. Forced to honor an ancient treaty and the Laws of the supernatural world, Jacky swears an oath to protect Carey Everson, the human daughter of a local werewolf Alpha from Dallas.

When his enemies come after Jacky and her charge, she’s going to have to embrace the more dangerous side of who and what she is. She’s going to have to challenge the very Laws that govern her kind.

And nothing is going to stop her from honoring her word.

Jacky Leon is up there with Mercy Thompson

Jacky Leon is up there with Mercy Thompson and Kate Daniels in terms of quality Urban Fantasy books. She is compelling and the world is rich and expansive. This plot revolves around protecting the human daughter of a werewolf alpha, when called to Duty. Jacky is justice. She knows what is right and what is wrong. And no matter how hard she will do what is right, even if it means breaking one or more of the Laws that govern supernaturals. I love her and I cannot wait for the more.

Jacky Leon is BadA$$ with a heart

KN Banet never fails to bring it! No matter the series, she keeps you hooked and wanting more! I am not a fan of Audible books, but this was well done! I read the book as well as listened and the Narrator did a great job of keeping me engrossed in the story line. Jacky Leon is tough and I love that the main story line is completed, so you are not left in a cliffhanger, yet the back story keeps you intrigued and looking forwards to the next issue.

Interesting story, but

I bought this book based on the previous reviews of other readers, who exclaimed that this was a girl with Kick-Ass efforts on her part and taking no prisoners!

In my opinion, I was disappointed in the sense that she did not have the skills to fight as well as I thought she should, nor the situational awareness during the fighting, and she constantly was getting beat up and hurt herself, even though she took out several of the opponent's!

Additionally, there was far too much drama, introspection, whining, etc, for my appreciation, plus it appears to be devolving into a romance novel!

I will not continue this series!

Fun Times

Oath Sworn was really fun!,,,,,*

Through Jacky the werecat’s eyes we see a small slice of the supernatural world attempting to coexist with humanity. A crazy long time ago, werewolves were almost eliminated by the werecats and vice versa. In order to stop the wiping out of werecats, a rule was put into place: If a werecat was called to duty to help a human, they had to complete this duty or die. No choosing werewolf sides, either. Werecats are strong but few, and so this oath binding was what kept them alive and out of the way for a heck ton of years.,,,,,*

Jacky, a young, recently turned werecat, just wants to be alone and run her cool, laid back bar. That is until some werewolves decide to have a revolt. Amidst the chaos, some hot-shot Alpha’s human daughter is sent to her, evoking the werecat’s duty for protection. Sweet isolation? Not anymore.,,,,,*

But, yeah, like I said, the beginning of Jacky Leon’s series was a blast. Once that little 11-year-old shows up, it’s non-stop action. We learn about the complexities of werecat and werewolf rules, and we are introduced to a sliver of other super naturals along the way. Jacky is freaking tough, and I like that she gives everything she does her 110%.,,,,,*

If the action hadn’t slowed down around ¾’s of the way, this one would have been peak urban fantasy for me. We are also given a whole slew of different super naturals gathered together right at the very end that piqued my interest only to end the story. I mean, it’s a series so they’ll be covered eventually, but man. Werekitsune? Yes. Please!.....*

Only gripe that I eventually got used to was the narrator, Savannah Gilmore. She seemed kind of bored reading, like she wasn’t really interested in the story. I did like her different voices for the characters, though.

Awesome ☺️💕😀

I love the MC she’s strong and doesn’t put up with people’s shit. You can just tell that you’ll love her and the other characters. Especially the child you’ll love her to.

LOVE IT!

The best action packed book I’ve read in a while. I laughed out loud and got tears in my eyes also. Exceptional writing of a down to earth personality in Lead character. Can not wait to read book 2. This is a long book, but it seemed to fly by because I was so engrossed. Thank you K. N. Banet.

Great listen!

I love these books and had read them before getting the audiobook. I am quite picky about narrator's voices but love this one. She expresses the feelings fully without it seeming overacted. Jacky Leon is a great character and I want to hear what will happen in her life next.

Okay Read

The story has a okay plot about the conflict between honour and law. After a very slow start - I almost gave up - the plot line improved with a few surprises and plot twists before a somewhat predictable ending. That said, I enjoyed it and would buy the next book in the series and look out for other books from this author.

***Btilliant***

A fantastic fast paced, action packed and entertaining to boot. Jacky Leon is one kick ass heroine a bad ass were cat shifter who was pulled into a war that she has no intention of involving but had to because of her Oath Sworn to protect a lil human girl a daughter of a werewolf alpha. It's another exciting series from K Banet. Savannah Gilmore is brilliant in her narrative.

Beautifuly emotive

Beautifuly emotive storyline, with an emotional depth I am not accustom to in this genre aided by Savannah's soft rich tone, I found myself instantly falling in love with Jacky and Kerri. If you love Urban Fantasy but need a break from the murder mystery storyline then I highly recommend giving this book a listen.
