Astonishing writing with a terrific plot

This book will always remain a favorite now that I’ve read it. The characters are so intricate and are described in a way that almost makes it seem as if you’ve interacted with them before! And the beautiful writing is complimented perfectly with an amazing plot that keeps you on edge and wondering what will happen next. The romance aspects combined with the drama and action made it so I didn’t want to put my phone down until I completed the whole book! I’d 10/10 recommended to anyone who’s a fan of romance with surprising (and hilarious) twists!

Romance and danger

A Lovely Nightmare is a hauntingly beautiful book about love, soulmates, danger, and magic. I loved how the author developed the relationship between the main characters throughout the book. The storyline was strong and solid. The characters were strong, quirky, funny and likeable even Red whom I wanted to put a gag I her mouth. I received this audio book at my request. I am leaving my honest review voluntarily of my own volition.

Loved it, highly recommend for your next read!

Few authors can make me genuinely laugh, and this novel had so many appreciated moments of well-written humor and snark. Great world building and introduction into a unique world I'd never read before. Excellent characterization, imagery, and details. It sparked my imagination and I could see everything so clearly. This book was many things including: a mystery, journey story, a hero story, and a slow burn enemies to lovers romance. The moments of tension were written exceptionally well. This one will stay in my audio library. The audiobook was highly entertaining. I'm sure people thought I was crazy alone in my car laughing my head off as I listened to this gripping tale. Looking forward to reading or listening to more of this storyline and what happens with Red. I'll also be checking out this author's other works.

Unique paranormal romance with suspense

This was a unique paranormal romance, unlike any that I have read (or listened to) before. This is the story of Amelia who has been haunting by an evil presence since she was a child. No one believed her about the monster in her closet and because of that she was an outcast. Now she is starting a new life in college. She is optimistic about her future. She meets her sexy new landlord and then her world it turned upside down again. She starts to suspect he has something to do with the terror she has experienced her whole life. Even though she shouldn't have feelings for him, she does and she tries her hardest to fight it. As the reader we shouldn't want these two together but we do. Then the truth explodes and it shocks Amelia. It shocked me too. The paranormal aspect is one I didn't see coming and I loved that. This book is full of suspense and adventure. Don't worry romance lovers, that element is in there too. The whole story will keep you on the edge wondering what is going to happen next. This narrator does a great job really being the voice for Amelia. I felt like she was telling me her story personally. There is also room for the story to continue and I hope we get more.

Great Read

This story started off so creepy I turned it off! But i came back to it and listened to the entire thing. Their slow burning romance did start to drag on too much. Especially with as many times she rejected Brady. Hard not to feel bad for him. Over all a great story that keeps you guessing!

Pretty good story

This is a story where a girl has monsters in her closet. When she was little, she would see red eyes on her closet. And hear a voice asking if she wanted to play. Nobody believed her. They even went as far as taking her to doctors.

Now that she's a college student. The monsters still come around. Only one is her soul mate. And he will do anything to keep her safe

Captivating & Astonishing

Amelia grew up with a monster in her closet. She never felt normal. The kids all made fun of her growing up. She is finally grown and moved away for college. She is ready to start a new life. She meets her new landlord Brady who she is attracted to. The monster from her past is back and his form has changed. I had no idea what was coming next in this story. It was intense and exciting. The author and narrator made me feel as though I was in the scenes. I plan to listen to this again.

And a great story that kept me listening non stop to the end, Amelia trying to withstand the handsome Brady, what and who is he to come into her life and she, trying not to fall for him or even like him let alone trust him, until events unfold that leave her realising the truth of her feelings, but is it too late? Also narrated beautifully, capturing all the characters so well.

A great story

Well written and well read, this book tells its story in a way that holds the listener's interest entirely. I will definitely look out for more work from this writer/narrator in the future. Both did an excellent job

I was given a free code in exchange for a honest review. I really enjoyed the beginning of the story but started to lose interset towards the end.

A thoroughly enjoyable story...

I listened to this book without reading the synopsis so had no clue what to expect. I can honestly say I was pleasantly surprised.

There was enough pace to keep me interested but not too much I got lost. All characters and scenes were well described so I felt I was along for the ride.

My only slight niggle was the over use of sweetheart and the narrators way of saying escape. But other than my personal quibbles, the rest was tip top!

Fabulous book one I would listen to again.
Amelia has been plagued by a monster since she was a child but no one believed her.
When she leaves home to go to college she meets her landlord and realises their is something about him she can’t resist.
Her monster has taken a new form and has followed her wherever she goes 24/7 .
I am usually good at sussing out the bad guy/girl but this book threw me and I was surprised who the monster was which added to my listening enjoyment.
