Story
It’s difficult to totally disconnect from our jobs outside of work hours. But not doing so can cause long-term stress, burnout, and loss of the joy we find in work. As a top tech leader, Bruce Daisley has seen up close how an around-the-clock work culture can lead employees to feel perpetually stressed-out, disengaged, and unhappy. In this workshop, Daisley lays out specific strategies to help us break free from the unhealthy work habits that lead to burnout and shows us that protecting our personal time can lead to more inspiration and more joy on the job.

Managing stress comes down to understanding - and solving - what therapist Megan Bruneau calls the stress equation. According to Bruneau, stress is the result of thinking that your perceived responsibilities are greater than your perceived capacity to take them on. In this workshop, Bruneau tells us how to change those perceptions to manage stress, whether it originates at the office or elsewhere. From understanding that you can’t do everything yourself to taking time to boost your mood, Bruneau identifies concrete ways to help you de-stress and handle life’s messiness.

Adam Grant, Wharton organizational psychologist, went to the World Economic Forum in Davos, the epicenter of power, and sat down with thought leaders from around the world, to find out.

Living with purpose means using your gifts, in keeping with your values, to make a positive impact on the lives of others. But it’s not easy. Half the work of cultivating greater purpose in life involves facing personal and profound questions. What matters most to me? What do I value in other people, and why? When she explains how to visualize your emotion I got mad and amazed at myself because thinking about this brought tears to my eyes. This was very insightful and I believe that these would be good strategies. It does a fantastic job at breaking down certain thought triggers and ways to deal with each. I really enjoyed the fact that it is broken up into sections based on bullets / main topics. Also, these sections are titled the bullets so it's very easy to go back in reference.

Love Dr. Judy Ho! This is another clear and easy anecdote for bad self talk
I have always been a huge fan of Dr. Judy; from her time on her own TV show and segments on The Dr’s and Dr. Phil. SHE KNOWS HER SH*T! Lol. All joking aside, this is a nice little booster for a more lengthy Self Sabotage killing plan. These steps are easy to implement and they cost Zero $ to practice treating yourself better!
