Hadley Whitaker is a liar, a killer, and a chocoholic, but she's getting better about the first two. Or maybe she's just getting better at them.

Some days it's hard for her to tell fact from fiction, but only one truth matters. Goddess willing, she's going to be the next Potentate of Atlanta. Even if it means playing nice with Midas Kinase, a shifter whose mysterious past might just be grimmer than her own.

When a bloodthirsty rogue begins hunting the city's paranormals, Hadley ropes Midas into letting her work the case. But that rope starts to feel more like a noose as they come closer to discovering not only the rogue's identity, but each other's darkest secrets.

Contains mature themes.

I really enjoyed this, but it reads like there must be at least one book (or series?) ahead of it.
There are lots of unexplained references to the past. So far, I can't figure out if I'm really missing something, or whether the author is throwing us into the deep end.

I seem to be missing something

This is a fun, action packed story that follows the black sheep of the last series as she remakes herself. Really enjoyed

Love Hailey Edward’s

And I can’t wait for book 2! I’m not a fan of the author. In fact I really didn’t like ANY of her other books at all. I was really surprised I enjoyed this book. It was written in first person with the main characters view but went in the love interests view here and there. The romance was somewhat there but my biggest thing is that it didn’t rush into it. Very much a slow burn with 2 very broken souls with sad backstories. I’m excited to see how their relationship grows. I almost wanted to go back and read the other undead series with Grier (but probably won’t because that book was just terrible). Excited for book 2.

Really enjoyed this book

I’ve been reading Hailey’s books for quite a while now, and they always keep me engaged! This was no exception. The narrator did a great job and the story was amazing as always. I can’t wait to learn more about Midas and Hadley as the series progresses.

Hailey Edwards FTW
