This ended up being the last book in this series (before the epilogue book). I have to admit that I was more invested in this book than I originally expected to be. Hailey Edwards has a way of creating characters that somehow pull at your heart and you end up caring about - before you even realize that you are invested.

Hadley was in Atlanta as an "apprentice" as she is learning to become the Potentate of Atlanta (hence, of course, the title of the series). What this book shows us more than anything else is how she has somehow managed to bring together all of the various factions of supernaturals in a way that has not been done before. Over this series, we have found that Hadley CARES about her city and cares about the various groups that inhabit her city. She has found a way to make these groups (vampires, weres, etc) understand that she does not play favorites. She may be mated with a shifter, but her best friends are all members of other groups and she would fight just as hard for ANY of the other groups.

We finally see the story arc reach its climax as everything comes to a head. But, we also get to see the city come together under Hadley as they all band together to "fight" the big bad evil.

I LOVED seeing the relationship with Midas solidify and I really loved seeing how close she was to all of her friends. Remy, Bishop - even the way she finally learned to deal with Ambrose. It was a long time in the making.

I alternated between listening and reading (as always) and had no problems with the narration. There is one more book to go - let's see where it takes us......

I'm tired of listening after 6 chapters

Hadley's infuruarity complex mix with her god complex has become a bit much and she is grating on my nerves. i hate when the character continues to make the past define her and refuse to move on and acknowledge the person they have grown to, she is not less than anybody else and she is not responsible dor everything that goes wrong nor ia she responsible for fixing everything.its annoying.
