I love Dr. Michael Greger and how he talks so him reading his book is a bonus for me. If you want science based weight loss tips or health tips in general this book is the best that you can buy, period.

The author had no business reading his own book… His voice and inflections are not book reading quality. The information was awesome, but I suffered through listening to it because the gruffly, growling voice of the author was not enjoyable. I ended up getting the book on my Kindle and listening to it through the text to voice feature. Audible I hold you responsible for this because you should have advised the author he did not have book reading quality voice.

The reading performance is hideous. On those rare moments where Dr. Greger relaxes with the need to emphasize or highlight, the reading is fine. But those moments are teensy specks among over exaggerated, over emphasized, over performed murmurings. Speeding up the reading couldn’t speed up those elongated over doings. It is so painful that it makes you want to pull your hair out of your head!!!!

I’ve never written a review for audible - but please listen to the low ratings for the narration. I just thought people disliked the narration hadn’t heard How Not to Die - Dr. Greger does have a certain “style” to his voice. However — this narration is so different that it’s hard to listen to. It feels like listening to a play where the actor is mildly drunk. Some words slur or are not enunciated enough and some inflections to his voice don’t make sense at all. I love the info - I hate the narration.

Very enlightening and at times laugh out loud funny. If you are used to Dr Gregor videos, the narration will probably be more enjoyable. I will definitely listen to this again and again, as it's so much to take in at one time.
