Emotions, affect regulation, and interpersonal social behavior are psychological processes that define how people react to events, environmental difficulties, and other people. These processes build our sense of self, help us form connections, and influence whether we feel comfortable in different situations or with different individuals. Despite the fact that these processes may be witnessed scientifically and subjectively, they constitute a complex interplay between our psychological experience and physiological control.

This is one of the first symptoms of vagus nerve disorder. The nerve can affect us to the point of causing issues such as obesity, chronic health problems, and even mood disorders. A fantastic guide on the Vagus Nerve
Ione Goodhart provides incredibly relatable examples of people who were struggling with stress and how they were able to overcome it by using natural methods to build their connection with the vagus nerve. I loved hearing about the different techniques they used and how effective they were.
The book was clearly very well researched and Goodhart's own exploration of these natural remedies to stress was incredibly helpful. I also appreciated how Goodhart shared her own personal story and struggles with stress, which made it all the more relatable.
I am looking forward to implementing several of these strategies into my own daily routine to reduce my stress levels.
Finally, I have to give a shout out to the narrator. They did a fantastic job performing this audiobook and made it an absolute pleasure to listen to. I highly recommend this audiobook to anyone looking for natural ways to relieve stress and restore ease in their lives.

Natural and Wholistic Ways to Health
There are so many negative side effects that go along with conventional drugs, so I'm always looking for natural solutions that actually work. In this book I not only learned natural ways to health, but I also learned about the nervous system and WHY the things in this book work, which I thought was super helpful. This book demystifies the complex workings of the nervous system and sheds light on the vital role played by the vagus nerve in promoting overall mind-body health. It sounds like learning about how the nervous system works would be complex and confusing, but it was taught in a way that actually wasn't confusing. I learned a lot!

Stress Management
Ione Goodhart has written a great book with a ton of information. Jane Ghazni has done a wonderful job narrating it. My wife and i listen to the book together and took copious notes. The narration was at the perfect speed and structure to allow us to take notes and have to pause and/or rewind very little. Great Job.
This book is full of tons of information on managing stress. The guide to stress management workbook and the journal prompts throughout the book are a great addition.
The book does an amazing job helping you deal with stress and the fight, flight and freeze response typical with stress. We were particularly intrigued by the part of the book dealing with brain fog and how to eliminate that. If you tune in to your body as Ione Goodhart says you can eliminate brain fog altogether.
We always knew that meditation was something we should be doing but we never really understood the link between our nerves and physical, mental and emotional state. Thanks to this book and it teaching us how to tap into our Vagus nerve we feel ready improve our emotional well-being but also tap into its healing power.
This is a great book with a lot of valuable information. We highly recommend it.

Highly informative and enlightening
For my whole life, I've been enthralled with metaphysics, the subconscious, and the mind-body connection. I've often heard references to the vagus nerve but never truly understood what it was or its place in the nervous system. This book explains it all in a comprehensive and enjoyable way! It's fascinating to me to learn why and how these things work - it makes the application of self-healing that much more tangible. This is a great audiobook that deserves multiple plays.
