I enjoyed it! I like when the author reads their books most of the time and this is one of those times .. I think the criticism comes from people
NOT seeing the point even tho’ it’s mentioned numerous times Winter was locked up for 15 years. So there’s no time to grow and mature it’s basically survival of the fittest in prison so yes she’s going to have to have time to learn things and most of all trust and even tho’ her family is trying sometimes they still not even getting it right .. the storytelling is current yet nostalgic at the same time. I give Sister Souljah so many props for that ..I am still invested in this Winter saga and hope in the ones to come we get a Midnight and Winter encounter because her father really explained to her some things but I think she needs to hear some things from Midnight as well so she can move forward and really start her healing process. Either way very good job and can’t wait for the next one!! And I do recommend and it was a really good weekend read kept the pages turning wanting to know what happens next!

This book gave a lot of detailed beginning scenarios with no clear ending to anything. People were introduced with no clear purpose. Things never seemed to flow together. I’m not even sure what happened at the end. It was like a book full of Winter talking about fashion and decor in great detail. I really think this book is living off the memory of the coldest winter ever because if not for that I probably wouldn’t buy it.

First off the Coldest Winter Ever is and will forever be unmatched! I was a little taken back by the voice because it’s now genuinely aged. However, after rocking with Sista Souljah for so long I can appreciate hearing her tell the story. I would’ve loved to hear her voicing Life After Death and Nia Long voicing Love After Midnight.

We are witnessing the institutionalized Winter Santiaga navigate back into society. She’s grown but hasn’t matured. Papa Santiaga on the other hand has learned to blend back into society and make it work for him., or has he? There were a lot of situations left opened and I believe we’ll be hearing more stories as there’s so many lanes she could step into from here.
