Publisher's Summary

The explosive start to an epic urban trilogy from New York Times best-selling author JaQuavis Coleman.

Once the streets pull you in, they own you. Or at least that's the way it's been for Nautica. Growing up in the hood, all she's ever known is the fast life - fast money illicitly made through scandals and relentless scheming. But when a big scam nearly finishes her off, she decides she wants more out of life than the hustle and tries to make a new life for herself on the East Coast. It isn't long, though, before she falls in with Manny, a drug kingpin who sweeps her off her feet. He promises to marry her and make her "Queen of the Street". Then everything falls apart. As their relationship unravels, both of their dark secrets are uncovered, pitting them against each other in this exciting tale of love and deception.

DEPRESSING. What a F:@&$ Up Ending

I love anything Nicole Small reads and that's why I bought the book, Normally I like Jaquavis books but damn this shit made me miserable from beginning to end. FYI readers would keep the books forever if there is a happy ending. Why couldn't she have been honest then he gets out of the game and they have a couple of kids named Mimi and Keya. I would never listen to this a second time and for that reason I must return it. Who wants to listen to 9 hours four a messed up ending.I'm just saying happy endings are preferred

Waste of time

This book was mind numblingly stupid. Let's start with the narration. The narrator didna phenomenal job at the acting and making the charectars as real as could be despite all the corniness. My only complaint is the sound sometimes messed up and for random moments it almost sounds like a different narrator, it's distracting. Whoever was in charge of the audio part of the Audio book should find a new job. 2. The book is so cliché!!!! Maybe all the intense nearly pornographic erotic literature might be forgivable if there was at least a good story, but i couldn't continue. I really really wanted to finish the book, i got so far!! but finally i couldn't take it anymore. I no longer liked any of the charectars and found them all pretty simple minded. God Nautica is so stupid!!! This book is annoying. Don't waste your time, unless you like stereotypical unrealistic blaxplotation bullshit. The whole thing rings FAKE so loud throughout it's tiring. Maybe if your really into listening to porn described, and poor very cliché story lines with stupid male dependant females as a main character then this is for you. Otherwise leave it alone!!

Terrible. Don't waste a credit.

This book is horrid. I wish I was a better writer so I could correctly articulate just how bad this is.

Sophomoric writing, using every cheap writing trick in such a heavy handed way they are all obvious.

I did finish the entire story, only because I despised the characters and story so much I had to make sure they all died.

Sex scenes were neither realistic or erotic, like they were written by someone that had only heard sex talked about, but never actually participated in the act.

I am amazed that people have given this author positive reviews. It Baffles me, and makes me leery of buying other books based on reviews. I can only guess it is the agent and family.

Run away.

Great Story

The book was really good. It would be nice to have multiple people read the parts. Maybe a male for the male parts and female for the female sections. It's kind of hard to imagine or put yourself in the book when the characters sound the same.

Awesome

Loved it.... Suspensful, edge of my seat, hood dramas. At times it was so intense I had to just stop listening, regroup and then continue. Great, great, great book.

Twists and turns.

it was a very good book. The only thing I had trouble with is the constant mention of the buttob, but that's just me.

OMG ...WOW!!!!

Would you listen to The Dopeman's Wife again? Why?

Yes I would

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Dopeman's Wife?

The End was really GOOD!

What didn’t you like about Nicole Small’s performance?

Her Voice went in and out which kind of through it off for me at times

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I didn't laugh much my eye got watery at the end but through the entire book i was in shock in a very good way.

Any additional comments?

This book was really good at some part could be took much for my liking but the middle to the end kept me on the edge of my seat. I found myself letting out loud OMGEEEE and HELL YEAH...LOL Some parts might be slow but stick with it i promise you will like it if not love the book.
