An Avon Romance

Not in love with Rogan's voice but that life. . .

Renee Raudman's narration gave me that way to hear the book and be sent on a journey while doing everything else that I have to do. The transportation to another world that was more fantastical and adventurous than the one I live in. I love listen to this even though I did not like Rogan's voice. It just felt off and did not match the picture in my head of him or what he would sound like.

I knew when I began book one that there was something very, very special about Nevada. She did not think so, much. She was an untamed, untapped source with no connections and no family power beyond their meager little PI business. Well, let us just say that as we navigate book two in this series we find that there’s a lot more to Nevada that meets the eye and there are others that want what she has.

Unique. Entangled. Embroiled. Intense. Another outstanding Ilona Andrews production. There are monsters, mages, bad people, good people, family, cohorts, and some you just can’t quite classify. Here you find a world that has romance, action, drama, fantasy, Rogan, Nevada, and some secrets come out. Pick it up. Read it. Read it again.

I never had a doubt that I would not love this one. The first one drew me in with its slow moderate pacing. This second one hooked me all the way in and had me panting with anticipation of book three, Wildfire, in this series. I have loved each book that I have read by the duo authors, Ilona Andrews. With each new series they create, I find new worlds and new adventures that captivate me and inspire me onward. Their slick, sweet, sensual combination of action, drama, romance and urban fantasy brings an edge that intensifies the read and makes for a very enriching reading adventure.

MS. ANDREWS DOES NOT DISAPPOINT IN THIS SEQUEL.

Ok, people the plot thickens and lines are seriously drawn. I don't even have to sell this book because if you started with the first book you're already hooked. I can't say what was bad about this book, it's minor but to do so will give away some details, but I promise you that you will love this book.

Great but Graphic compared to her other Series

Well, as always Ilona Andrews is/are one of the most talented, amazing authors out there. Everything they write is intriguing, intense, and totally sucks me into the amazingly believable world they create. The tension and emotion underlying the relationship between Nevada and Rogan is powerful and appealing. Nevada's mom, grandmom, sisters and cousins are hilarious and jump right off the page as people you'd love to know.

The only unexpected thing for me in this book is that there was much more detailed sexuality. I love urban fantasy, and over the past few years, I have found that there were two EXCELLENT authors ( I could pretty much rely on to deliver the very best urban fantasy with amazingly detailed worlds, intriguing characters, plenty of romantic tension, humor and great relationships -- but without the level of sexuality that makes me feel the need to skip over numerous pages.

As always, great narration.

I absolutely love the writing of Ilona Andrews but I do feel that I need to add a disclaimer to this review for anyone who might not be expecting more than PG-13. This series would undoubtedly be rated R and I would be more hesitant in recommending it to my daughters for that reason (unlike the Clean Sweep series).

Quick Thoughts: I really am digging this series. The mysteries are strong. The world building is spectacular. Mad Rogan is every bit annoying but hot alpha that is perfect for Nevada. As with most UF that I really love though it is Nevada that I absolutely think is a ROCK STAR! I thought her push/pull with her family, Mad Rogan, ect would be annoying but honestly her reasons were sound! I also loved the new addition to the team this book brought. I can't wait for the final book (but I will wait for the audio because it is a MUST)!

I waited for the audiobook because Renee is just a perfect match for this author duo. I also have the next book already on pre-order. That should say enough about what I think of the audio version of this series. JUST DO IT!

Book 2 better than Book 1

If you could sum up White Hot in three words, what would they be?

Book 2 is better than book 1. Worth the credit.

What other book might you compare White Hot to and why?

I loved it since the heroine is strong, but not B***hy. I loved the tension between the hero and the heroine. I usually HATE secondary characters, but I love these.
