Publisher's Summary

An uneasy alliance between warring families gets heated in this otherworldly novella from bestselling author Ilona Andrews.

At first glance, the planet Rada seems like a lush paradise. But the ruling families, all boasting genetically enhanced abilities, are in constant competition for power - and none more so than the Adlers and the Baenas. For generations, the powerful families have pushed and pulled each other in a dance for dominance.

Until a catastrophic betrayal from within changes everything.

Now, deadly, disciplined, and solitary leaders Ramona Adler and Matias Baena must put aside their enmity and work together in secret to prevent sinister forces from exploiting universe-altering technology. Expecting to suffer through their uneasy alliance, Ramona and Matias instead discover that they understand each other as no one in their families can - and that their combined skills may eclipse the risks of their forbidden alliance.

As the two warriors risk their lives to save their families, they must decide whether to resist or embrace the passion simmering between them. For now, the dance between their families continues - but just one misstep could spell the end of them both.

Another delicious adventure

Ilona and Gordon Andrews have penned another exhilarating adventure in the Kinsman universe. Once again, we have dangerous aristocrats engaged in a battle against corrupt bad guys. The twisty plot will make your blood hum, as will the Romeo and Juliet romance between a couple from feuding families. Great fun!

ILL OAN AH Andrews is always a treat.

The collectors of the book devouring horde have delivered another keeper. This one is just fun start to stop. Take care if listening while driving, speed will increase.

Lovely Story

This short story has the perfect blend of humor, action, betrayal, and growth. It is fast paced and the characters are fully developed. If you are looking for an adventure with romance elements, listen to this book.

More complex than Kinsman

The plotting in this one was a little more entertainingly complex than the pieces in the Kinsman audio book ... but even with the additional characters and descriptions of places, it is not even close to the glorious complexity of the Hidden Legacy or Innkeeper sagas. It had enough complexity to hold my attention and it did have a subplot or two that helped a lot. I'm hoping House Andrews gets back to writing more complex novels with less gore and more in-depth, colorful, exotic creatures and planetary landscapes, more interesting and well fleshed out main characters, and more engaging plotting.

Good plot

I didn’t feel the relationship with the main characters. It seemed flat. The narrator didn’t help. Maybe a different narrator would have made a difference.

A Good Intro To the World Setting

I love everything I have ever read by Andrews until now. I wanted to, but could not care about any of the main characters. I kept reading to see how they would defeat their formidable foes. With a few engaging scenes, my attention is captured, then lost. I do want to read more in this world setting, but please take your time writing. Love and peace, a devoted fan.

Loved it!

I love the Kinsmen world and this story did not disappoint.

One of my favorite things about Ilona Andrews’ books are the fight scenes, and of course, they were beautifully choreographed in this book.

I’ll hope for future stories in the Kinsmen Universe, but I can say without a doubt that I’ll read/listen to anything released by House Andrews.

I also enjoyed very much Aaron Shedlock’s narration.

Highly recommended audiobook!

This series isn’t as good as Ilona Andrew’s other books. This story had some good bits, but loads was just meandering about, and I didn’t feel hooked in at all. Wouldn’t be surprised if this was her early work and they’re only just turning it into an audiobook series to get more sales since her more recent work has been good and is popular.
