AN INSTANT NEW YORK TIMES BEST SELLER!

“Honest, timely, and completely thrilling.” (Reese Witherspoon (Reese’s Book Club x Hello Sunshine book pick)

Sloane, Ardie, Grace, and Rosalita have worked at Truviv, Inc., for years. The sudden death of Truviv’s CEO means their boss, Ames, will likely take over the entire company. Each of the women has a different relationship with Ames, who has always been surrounded by whispers about how he treats women. Those whispers have been ignored, swept under the rug, hidden away by those in charge. But the world has changed, and the women are watching this promotion differently. This time, when they find out Ames is making an inappropriate move on a colleague, they aren’t willing to let it go. This time, they’ve decided enough is enough.

Sloane and her colleagues’ decision to take a stand sets in motion a catastrophic shift in the office. Lies will be uncovered. Secrets will be exposed. And not everyone will survive. All of their lives - as women, colleagues, mothers, wives, friends, even adversaries - will change dramatically as a result.

"If only you had listened to us,” they tell us in Chandler Baker's Whisper Network, “none of this would have happened."

Editor's Pick

I could not stop listening
"With its quick description as "a feminist thriller for the #MeToo era," Whisper Network was bound to create buzz, and I must say that in this case that buzz is very well deserved (great pick, Reese!). And while there is some very bad behavior going on and plenty of justified rage, what makes this the perfect summer listen is its simultaneous lightness. Narrator Almarie Guerra's performance is a masterwork in capturing the nuanced differences between each character. It's a twisted tale full of people and situations you love to hate and hate to love, it's a little campy, and even the women are kind of terrible, but I could not get enough of their entangled stories and could barely wait to find out what happens in the end. My advice: control yourself, maybe listen at 1.25 speed, but be patient and wait for it!"

Just ok

Disappointed to find out author is an attorney because there were so many inaccuracies to real life practice. Story was ok but a little too contrived and convenient. Good summer listen.

Texas Author really hits her mark

I wanted to read this/listen to this because I heard Chandler Baker interviewed on the Texas Monthly podcast. The story is set in Dallas, even though she lives in Austin, but it was so realistic, so believable...I know men like Ames, I think Chandler Baker does too.

Erratic but wanted to know the outcome.

While the actual reading performance was well done, the book material is so all over the place it's hard follow. Instead of being told in a way that feels like the character is present in a deposition and then has a flashback recalling how the events unfolded, it is more as the storyline developed the author had a thought to add some background and just threw it into the book. Also, so many pieces of the storyline never feel fully developed. Sorry, but this one was not a cliff of my seat, page turner for me.

Slow starting for me

As an audible book I found it started slow for me. Once I got about 1/3 in, I was very engaged in the characters until the end.

Slow Start

Very slow start, but the ending was pretty good. It was an okay story for what it was, GREAT MESSAGE, but writing wasn't the shining element for this read.

Not worth 12 hours

While I felt the story ended up being interesting at the end, I felt it dragged on and on. It was difficult to keep up with characters and was much longer than it needed to be.

Whisper Network

I felt this book was hard to follow on tape. It kept switching back and forth between the story & the questioning by detectives and lawyers. They were also referred to by their last name, when questioned. Which was confusing. There was a underlining sort of mystery that was pretty easy to figure out, which saved the day at the last minute.

Just not my jam.

Listened to the entire book because I thought it has to get better and it just doesn't. its a book about bitterness and extreme feminism. I understand and support the believe women movement but in my opinion (as a woman) if you are being mistreated in a company, then leave. Figure it out. There's no reason to endure harassment of any kind. Women are strong and smart creatures. We literally can do it all...and in heels if need be! Quit crying and woman up! Super frustrating to listen to.
