Publisher's Summary

Two years ago, Billie Tarrow's husband left her for another woman. Shamed and divorced, Billie retreated to her family home in Port Townsend, far from her old life in New York. After a near-death encounter, Billie decides to return to the city that took everything from her.

But sometimes in the midst of heartache, hope suffocates the pain.

Satcher Gable has carried a torch for Billie for 10 years. When she suddenly returns to New York a single woman, he can't believe his good fortune. But convincing her to walk away from her heartache is proving more difficult than Satcher anticipated. A changed woman, Billie's only goal is revenge.

So many emotions

This is a very emotional tale!!
Billie and Satcher do not have an easy path at all - best friends, ex husbands, fiances, business partners. How she even stays sane through this is amazing. Your heart is all over the place for these characters through most of this story. My biggest complaint is there is not enough Connor Crais - He's newer to me, but oh so good! Need more of that voice.

Recipe that works.

If you think it’s a sequel - think again but still worth the buy! Spoilers, somewhat: For readers who like sameness : there is same female - insecure, unworthy of love. The male catches the eye of all the ladies who is head over heels. Instead of a penny it’s a coin. Instead of chicks vs dicks it’s bro’s vs ho’s. Alcohol drinking and abstaining vs alcoholism. Pregnancy to keep a man around. If you want something different try Three Wives, Authors psychological thriller.

That was a rollercoaster!

I just finished the book and my emotions are everywhere! This definitely has triggers for me (cheating, lying, the cycle of it all). I had to pause a few times just to catch my breath or take a much needed deep inhale and exhale. But I pushed through and finished the book.

The narration was outstanding! Meg Sylvan did an amazing job as Billie and conveying all her emotions. Connor Crais as Satcher was perfect! Him and Meg expressed their characters feelings and brought Tarryn Fisher's words to life.

This book served as some sort of therapy for me and just gave me more perspective about previous life experiences. *breathes* ❤

Man....

This book was spot on to my personal life. I even cried at certain parts of the book. It really makes you think about your situation if it's something you are going through or have gone though. It so much on the nail for me, makes me wonder where and how Tarryn does her research. 10/10!

The ending was good.

Not as good as The Wives. Story too typical. Male narrators voice not masculine enough.

I need a #bookboyfriend like Satcher in my life!

I picked this book due to narrator Connor Crais. #NarratorMotivated My first from Ms. Fisher and definitely not my last. I could not put this book down. I felt so many emotions listening and reading this book some of them not pleasant but it’s all worth it in the end. I felt I was there experiencing it all with Billie & Satcher. I loved it. One of my best read this year. Both narrations from Connor Crais and new to me narrator Meg Sylvan were perfection.

crap

Terrible story with unbelievable characters. I couldn't imagine how bad it was. Mills and Boon basically. This is so far from modern is ridiculous.

Enjoyed overall although, not what I was expecting

I like taryn fishers style of writing . This one threw me a bit when the character perspective changed over. However overall an enjoyable read and great narrators.
