Great/short account of Frida story

Great/short account of Frida story, I enjoyed listening to it. But wayyyy to much repetition of the points. And too much irrelevant information about social media.

Not What I Expected

I thought this would be a new perspective or fresh perspective on life based on Frida's views. However, it was just her life story, almost identical to the Salma Hayek movie. Some of the details were repetitive.

Amazing

I don’t have enough words to explain how I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Arianna summed up an amazing and exceptional woman. This book certainly did the work and art of Frida Justice. I enjoyed every bit of it. 100% Recommend

Arianna truly brings Frida to life in her book. She shares such specific details that help you truly understand who Frida was - the woman, the artist, the wife, the activist, and the lover. I really enjoyed reading and listening to this book! Fantastic job, Arianna. I think Frida would be proud.

Very repetitive

Overall enjoyable but the book could easily be half the length. Every chapter is incredibly repetitive with some sentences word for word from previous chapters. Probably about half of each chapter is actually new info. It was enjoyable while I was driving but I rolled my eyes every time it started to repeat itself. It wasn’t completely awful but I wouldn’t read it again. A solid “meh”.

Could have been interesting but the repitition of facts and thoughts went on ad nauseen. What a shame!

enraptured

I enjoyed listening to the words spoken in the original accent they were intended and in many cases the language too. I liked the candor yet awe of balanced reverence given to the subject. I found it a pleasant thing to listen to, and a thought provoking way to look at this iconic figure.

Broken Record Stuck On Repeat

Sadly, that was the worst book I have ever read.

The only reason I pushed through was my curiosity to learn more about Frida. I assumed the novel was broken down into topics and then the author was going to give examples and use creativity to link things. However, the "what would Frida do answers even got repetitive, and this is a SHORT book.

THE SAME SENTENCE WERE ON REPEAT, worse than a broken record!!! At first, I just thought I was having de ja vu when sentence was being repeated, or that maybe they were slightly worded differently. NO... if I had the print version, I could probably highlight all the time the author just "copy pasted" the same sentence, often within the same chapter even!! I tried to keep going but found myself saying out loud "OMG I KNOW THAT ALREADY" by then end. Example... even in chapter 9 the author should not need to repeat sentences from every single chapter before it to let us know that Frida had suffered from a debilitating bus accident. If the reader hadn't picked up on that then that is on them.

Upside, the narrator was very pleasant to listen to.

Repetitive and disappointing

The author repeats things constantly as if she had no clear direction on how she wanted to map out her story. Because many aspects of Frida’s art and life are so interconnected, Davis circles back to the same points repeatedly. Very disappointing. The narrator does great with it.
