On the run from one fancy hotel refuge to another and from one dangerous moment to the next, with only Allie's feisty landlady, Margo, and a couple of Cleveland cops for backup, Allie and Tom evolve a strategy. I almost pass this series by because it is written in the first person. I am so glad I gave it a chance. It is absolutely fantastic. The characters were so well narrated/performed by Erica Sullivan. Very well written storyline. This is the first book written by Annie Hogsett that I have come across and I will definitely look forward to more books of hers. Wonderful plot and very likeable characters. Continuing with book 2 immediately.

50 Billion!!? 50 Billion!!? And after taxes, it's 20 Billion!! Who cares?!

I've never cared for 1st person books because I've always felt that the only viewpoint allowed was the author's and who could be so egotistic to think the readers needed to be force fed the premise of the book? But Too Lucky to Live is an entertaining exception. First of all, the book boggles the mind. I can't even begin to comprehend having a savings account with one Billion dollars much less 20 or 50! (Before and after taxes🤑) and my dazed condition is furthered by a love triangle of a blind man, a seven year old precoitous boy, and a morally balanced divorcee who is so down and out a trip to McDonalds is a feast. (the author.) It's an ongoing saga that upholds the Golden Rule but allows for realism with it. "Yes, there are scum pieces of humanity who want your money and will do anything to get it. After all you won it and I can own it just as easily and will spend it happily, with or without blood stains". Any other time, I would have already pressed the stop button and left the room retching from a HUGE overload of sugar but Annie Hogsett has created a cheerful, tongue in cheek, romantic, action packed, murder mystery subsidized by a Super Mundo lottery ticket! How can this formula not return a book that's also a winner?!
