Publisher's Summary

Maggie Phillips is more fun than a barrel of wet monkeys, and her first four misadventures are available now in one big box set!

Here are the misadventures of the laundry hag:

Book 1: Skeletons in the Closet

Murder, mayhem, meet your match!

Maggie Phillips hasn't had it easy. As the wife of a retired Navy SEAL and the adoptive mother of two little hellions, Maggie is constantly looking for ways to improve her family's financial situation. She accepts a cleaning position for her new neighbors (who redefine the term "eccentric"), never imagining she will end up as the sole alibi for a man with a fascination for medieval torture devices when he is brought up on murder charges.

While Maggie struggles to prove the man's innocence, her deadbeat brother arrives, determined to sell Maggie and Neil on his next great scheme and to mooch with a vengeance. If that isn't bad enough, her in-laws, (the cutthroat corporate attorneys) descend on the house - armed with disapproval and condemnation - for the family's annual Thanksgiving celebration.

As the police investigation intensifies, Maggie searches for the killer among the upper echelon of Hudson, Massachusetts, in the only way she can: by scrubbing their thrones. Of the porcelain variety, that is...

Book 2: Swept Under the Rug

Crime and grime are everywhere, at least in Maggie Phillips' opinion. Deep in the throes of a New England winter, Maggie's still adjusting to her new role as confidential informant for the Hudson Police Department. When a suspicious fax is sent to one of her new clients, Maggie is sure she's unearthed a conspiracy.

With no crime to investigate, however, the Hudson P.D. can do nothing - that is, until a wealthy trophy wife disappears, and the FBI is called in to the hunt.

On the home front, her 12-year-old son is growing up way too fast, while her brother is back with a few surprises destined to wreak havoc on the household. To frost the whole crappy cake, her best friend's marriage is falling apart, which leaves Maggie worrying over her own. All of the family drama is put into perspective, however, when Maggie is arrested for kidnapping and blackmail.

Between economic woes and a now tarnished reputation, Maggie is in way over her head. Yet, out of the ashes of frustration and failure, something great might emerge. If she survives the birthing process, that is....

Book 3: All Washed Up

When Maggie’s mother-in-law asks her to assist with renovations to their project house in upstate New York, she smells a rat. Matters become murkier when Laura casually tells the former laundry hag to “see to that pesky ghost” like the phantom is a ring around the bathtub.

But both Neil and Sylvia are eager to undertake the zany task, and really, what else does she have to do?

How about solve a two-decade old murder, find a few long lost relatives, fix her mental hang-ups, and reconnect with the husband she’s pushed away. And if she has any time to spare, maybe, she can even survive a pissed-off apparition and keep it from finishing the job the last two killers started.

Third time’s the charm, right?

Book 4: Hung Out to Dry

After a year in Hudson, Maggie Phillips - aka the laundry hag - is sure she’s seen all the small Massachusetts town has to offer. Of course, that’s until her newest client turns out to be psychic who’s inherited a massive estate from her recently deceased grandfather, much to the displeasure of the rest of the family.

Maggie soon suspects that what everyone believed was death by natural causes might’ve been a well-planned murder.

Never fear, Maggie, her sexy Navy SEAL, and the rest of the cleaning crew are on the case. Are the relations responsible for terrorizing the timid soothsayer and how far will they go to reclaim one percenter status?

One thing’s for sure, the laundry hag never saw this kerfuffle coming...

Hard to review

This is a boxed set with four different books and the quality was inconsistent, making it hard to review. Basically I loved all the main characters in booK one. I came to detest the main female character in books two and three - strident, contradictory, and ridiculous. In book four she came back to the character we meet in book one. It's distracting enough that by the beginning of book three I didn't know if I was going to be able to get through the rest of this set. I'm glad I did in the end but it's not the best writing I've encountered in a cosy mystery.

**VERY ENTERTAINING !!!***

I very seldom write reviews. But after listening to this box set, I just had to say how cute and funny these books are. Neil snd Maggie are the perfect couple and the cast of supporting characters all contribute to the storyline. I’m about to start on the next one in the series. 😃👍🏼

I love it when I find a new series!

I love it when I find a series where I can follow along with the characters and watch them grow and enjoy themselves along the way. it wasn't really the mystery part of it that pulled me in it was the characters interactions with each other. Good job

A fun misadventure box set

Having already listened to each of the 4 books in this set, I was so pleased to see that they have been released as a box set! I posted reviews for each individual book, so I’ll try not to be repetitive here...

I really enjoyed these stories by Jennifer L. Hart. The characters she has created are a lot of fun and oh so memorable. I love seeing the misadventures that Maggie, The Laundry Hag, gets into. These books have it all, mystery, thrills, drama, and lots of humor!

Suzanne Cerreta’s narration gets better and better as she progresses through the stories. She really gets into character and does a fantastic job of bringing the stories to life.

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.

The perfect Cozy Mystery series!

This was an absolutely amazing collection! I fell in love with these characters. Maggie aka the laundry hag is full of sass but also love for those who fall in her sphere. With her ex Navy Seal hubby Neil and besties Leo and Sophie, Maggie finds herself in predicament after predicament and always ends up in some sort of trouble but always solving the crime! Maggie and Neil are the perfect couple and Leo and Sophie are the fun friends we all wish we had. Marty (Maggie's brother) has the most character growth thru this series.

I did not want this to end - every chapter was fun and this read / listen was full of OMG and LOL moments! Narration was spot on - I loved the southern feel with southernism sayings (or what felt like it to me) and a bit of accents thrown in made me feel all the more at home listening.

A perfect cozy mystery - and a series too - I hope there is more to come - I never want to say goodbye to these characters!

This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.

Worth listening to on a long journey

Great narration but sadly to books become a bit repetitive. Books 1 & 4 for me were the best but books 2 & 3 lacked the content to give a better rating. The main character gets a bit annoying and this is very “American” series from a British POV. It’s quite OTT at times and very unbelievable but is witty and fun which makes up for it
