Publisher's summary

For Regan Penhaligon, there's no better place to run to than the exclusive Ardnoch Estate in the remote Scottish Highlands. Her impulsive behavior has finally caught up with her, and Regan's visit with her sister, Robyn, is an opportunity to hide from someone who has grown dangerously obsessed with her.

Determined to make amends for her mistakes, Regan plans to repair her relationship with Robyn by staying close. And when an offer of help comes from Thane Adair, Regan gratefully accepts.

Widower Thane needs a new nanny housekeeper for his two young children, and when they bond with Regan Penhaligon, he offers her the job. But as the weeks pass and the complex American reveals who she really is, Thane struggles with his growing attraction to her.

Regan never expected to feel so intensely for Thane, but she can't deny her passion for him or her love for his children. When someone from Thane's past threatens his family, Regan wants to be his pillar of support. However, his continued inability to trust her might just destroy their chance at future happiness...and the person who drove Regan to Ardnoch might snuff out her chance for any future at all.

An excellent story about Regan, the seemingly rebellious younger sister of Robyn from 'Here With Me' and Thane, younger brother of Lachlan, Robyn's fiance. With all the family connections this story follows closely from the previous story. In fact, I kept thinking it would be nice to know what Lachlan & Robyn were thinking as well.

This story is more true to life. I really enjoyed the interactions with the children. I'm not going to say more and give away the story. The narration was wonderful. I can't wait to hear the next story.

Love These Books

I always enjoy Samantha Young’s books! This new series seems to be another winner. My only issue is that they are overly angsty. At several points throughout I just wished fervently that they would get over themselves! I even considered skipping ahead! But I was afraid I’d miss something important if I did.

Read these novels

I am really enjoying the suspense and culture cross with these sexy, flawed heroes and heroines. What a beautiful setting, too.

I Didn’t Want This Book to End! 😢

Wow! This was a great book! I seriously didn’t want it to end. I haven’t said that about a book in a long time.

This book had everything…suspense, angst, passion, love, super hot sex…..all wrapped up in a “forbidden” age-gap romance that will have you swoon.

This one is DEFINITELY worth the credit! Promise.

The narrator performance was an A+!

Oh! And I hadn’t listened/read the 1st book of this series. It’s not necessary. BUT it will be a spoiler if you choose to go back and read it. It’s referenced many times (but summarized for clarity for us book skippers). You won’t be lost or unclear of the who, what, when, how, and where.

ENJOY!!!!!! :)

Gripping

Picking up from the ending of the first book in the series, I was excited to see what Samantha Young had in store for Regan Penhaligon and single dad, Thane Adair again set in the Scottish Highlands on the Ardnoch Estate.
Regan knows she needs to work and repair her relationship with her sister Robyn and ends up at the estate. It’s a win/win for her as she also appears to have picked up a stalker and things have been getting weird.
When Thane offers her a job as his nanny/housekeeper she jumps at the chance. However the attraction that sizzles between them quickly gets out of control. Not only are they falling for one another but Regan has fallen for his children Eilidh and Lewis.
However Thane has trust issues and when danger in the form of her stalker comes to Ardnoch Estate it will escalate. I really enjoyed the mix of romance and suspense. The banter was witty and I loved the relationship that she forged with Eilidh and Lewis, it was truly heartwarming.
Charlotte North did a wonderful job with her narration. Her voice was easy to listen to and her accents fabulous. She brought all the characters to life for me with the multiple voices she used for the various characters.
Ms.Young certainly has a way with words. I could easily visualize the Scottish Highlands and I cannot wait to read more in the series.

Spice and drama

Seriously addicted to this series! Love the Adair family and all the dramatics. I felt like the big scene at the end of this book was a bit rushed and would have liked life build up (possibly cutting down some of the earlier angst?). Slow burn but 🌶️🌶️ once it heats up! Regan was so good for Thane and excited to see Arro and Mac next. Combination of narration and reading for this one. As with the first book, I do wish it were an actual first-person dual POV rather than third-person for Thane.

There With You

Now the first book I like but I didn’t love and that was OK because sometimes it’s just your mood. This book I loved. Reagan and Thane and he’s adorable children melt your heart. Reagan comes to Scotland to make amends with her sister and you can tell she’s hiding something it takes some time but she finally lets her sister know what’s going on. Thane is helping his children get over the loss of his wife but also needing to work so he needs a nanny so he hires Reagan.

She is wonderful with children and they love her. This is a really great story of second chances. Family and finding love in the most unlikely of places.

I can’t wait to find out who the next book is about and I absolutely loved the narrator for this one she was fabulous with all the different voices all the different accents I just loved it.

enjoyable series if you can ignore narrator

the series needs male and female narrators as current one female sometimes makes it difficult to understand who is talking. this also applies to all voices in general. she does do the accent well, you just don't easily know who is speaking otherwise series is great and I will continue
