Narrator brings this series down

I love this series. I have read it many times and never regret rereading it. I enjoy listening to audio-books while working so finding this series on here was great. Then I heard the audio. This narrator's voice was not a very good fit for this genre, would probably do better as a lecturer. His tone was also pretty flat most of the time and kept pausing while reading like trying to swallowing spit. The editing is also pretty poor. There was a lot of heavy breathing, swallowing noises, and choppy sectioning. I guess because I know this story so well I can get over most of the audio issues and enjoy the story. If you have never read this series I suggest you read the book and not taint your mind and ears to this mess.

the story is gripping and interesting!

the book is different from other fantasies. the writing is designed more for a younger audience, but I still enjoyed into my adult years.

what

the most memorable moment is an audible "what" in the backgroud at the end of chapter 15

Poor quality reader

The reader had too many long pauses and he would loudly swallow almost every other sentence. Truly it was so obvious that when they were editing the audio that it they purposely left it in and maxed out the volume. it truly just breaks the immersion of the story and makes it unbearable to listen to. if it is the same reader I can't finish this series.

Captivating story, distracting narration

I recently finished listening to "The Warrior Heir," a fantasy adventure audiobook that was full of twists and turns. The storyline was immersive, with richly detailed world-building and characters that felt like they could walk right off the pages. However, my enjoyment was significantly hampered by the narration.

The narrator, while having a pleasant voice and good pacing, had a habit of swallowing and breathing loudly. At first, I thought it might be a one-time occurrence, but as the chapters went on, it became a consistent issue. The sound of heavy breathing and occasional throat clearing disrupted the flow of the story, pulling me out of the experience. It's like watching a movie with someone whispering in your ear – it's hard to stay focused when there's a constant reminder that you're listening to a recording.

Despite the distraction, I continued with the audiobook because the plot was compelling enough to keep me hooked. The author’s talent for weaving together action, mystery, and character development is undeniable. I found myself invested in the outcome and eager to find out what happened next. If the narration had been smoother and less intrusive, this would have been a five-star experience.

If you have a high tolerance for audio distractions, I would recommend "The Warrior Heir" for its fantastic storyline. However, if you're someone who values a seamless auditory experience, you might find the narration too much to handle. I hope the publisher considers re-recording this book or hiring a different narrator for future projects. With a cleaner delivery, this audiobook could truly shine.

Can't stand the breathing and mouth noises

Not to mention his strange afeminite way of speaking. Over doing pronunciation. Smacking lips, swallowing noises, desperate breaths in before continuing. Disappointed Can't do any more and he is the narrator through the ENTIRE series.

it's good, kinda slow at first but good reveals

kinda slow at first and frustrating as you feel the need of more information along with the character. however as he grows and reveals are given it ensnares your attention.
