After their success against the Ascendants is used by the Vestibulum as a cover for the mass murder of their old enemies, Sean has discovered that the Vestis are far more ruthless and dangerous than the previous two councils he's fought. Once again, Sean's home has been attacked by one of the Councils, only this time they've committed what they hoped would be an overwhelming force. While Sean and his family win the fight, Sean has been seriously wounded and taken out of action. For Roxy and the others, saving Sean's life has become the priority, but there are still things that must be done to secure their victory. Those tasks fall to Sean's other wives as they pick up where Sean left off.

While the Vestibulum may have lost this last battle, they are be no means giving up on the war. They know that they've hurt Sean, so their leaders are hoping that without his leadership, they can launch a new attack and kill him before he has the chance to recover. Word of Sean's difficulties has also spread to some of his other enemies, who are also keen to try and capitalize on these events.

Thankfully, Sean has allies, and they are moving to try and save his life. But can they get there in time?

Less Simmer, More Plot

These "two" books are actually just one book split into two. It was a fun ride, but personally less fun than the previous books. I don't want to spoil much, but because of actions toward the middle, there is considerably less steamy scenes compared to the previous book packs: if you're only reading the Valens Legacy for the steamy stuff you will be let down, however if you just love the characters and Leland's skill, this book gets the job done.

This book series is a awesome series if you like books with kick ass women and a guy who is just trying to keep his head above water and pleasing those women in some primal and steamy ways while kicking ass and taking names and dealing with problems he neber asked for with magic and sometimes in more brutal ways you will like this book

Great Series but....

Dear Jan Stryvant,

I know that you have other books series under a different pen name. But this book series is a great tale, I love the world that you have built. Most other authors can't really blend in fantasy world in to the real world and keep a tale going. The only problem with this series is as much as I hate to say it. "Too Much Sex" the sex scenes get it the way of your story. They brake up the action and detract from the book. It is as bad as watching Dragon Ball Z. Stop the fight here's a sex scene...... OK if the first few books I can see where they had a place. But after... Your story can stand on it's own please let it.

A great story

this is the most exciting series and its hard to wait for the rest of books to out. Great job on narrating

Its a Lion thing

A great collection of magical characters and they are blended in a way that is funny, dramatic, suspenseful and sexy. The character development from the first book to this point is awesome. There is plenty of sex in these two books (if that's your thing), but it fit well with the story and the characters in it. I mean if you started this series from the first book.... lots of sex is to be expected, lions and all. Looking forward to the next sets to be released.

throughout the entire series are graphic sex scenes the likes of which I normally find on erotic websites. I normally don't mind it every now and then but it seems half the pages in the otherwise interesting story was devoted to graphic sex...

Leaves you wanting for more

This book and the whole series leaves you wanting more and more. Like I really want to know more about the stories of lion,the history and the past. On this book I feel like it dragged on at the end and that more was needed, however this is more than one book so I understand just want more.
