Publisher's summary

Seven years ago, Rachel gave her heart to a dark, intense stranger who left her broken and alone.

Every day since then Rachel has thought about Dex, her memories refusing to be silenced.

Now, Dex is back, but this time he is not alone. He has brought a formidable army - their sole purpose to conquer. Fate will bring Rachel and Dex back together but on opposing sides of a war that threatens to obliterate her world.

Pitted against the power of the elements, Rachel and her friends must survive tsunamis, earthquakes, tornadoes, and fire...all the while being hunted by a powerful enemy who will stop at nothing to pillage her planet.

Fleeing for her life amid the chaos of a raging, burning city, Rachel realizes man’s only chance of survival lies in the hands of the very person who betrayed her all those years ago.

This boxed set includes the award-winning The Traveler as well as the highly anticipated sequel The Saviour plus a bonus short story that bridges the two.

Great Read

The Traveler Series: Boxed Set was a great read by Melissa Delport. This box set consists of; The Traveler, The Survivor, and The Saviour. The Traveler was a great read by Melissa Delport. Rachel gave her heart to a dark and intense stranger, who left her broken and alone seven years ago. She has spent every day since thinking about Dex. Dex is back now, but he isn't alone. He has brought an army who's purpose is to conquer. This time Rachel and Dex are on opposing sides of a war that may just obliterate her world. Rachel and her friends have to survive tsunamis, earthquakes, tornadoes and fire. Also a powerful enemy who will do anything to pillage her planet. She realizes that the only chance of survival lies in the hands of Dex. The Survivor - a short story was a great read by Melissa Delport. This is a short story that bridges The Traveler and it's sequel The Saviour. Rachel left earth and Zonax vowed to end his attack on mankind six months ago. But it is now clear that Zonax lied. Darren and Kate were left behind and have to fight to survive on a burning planet. They don't know what happened to their friends. The Saviour was a great read by Melissa Delport. Rachel's faith in Dex has brought her far away from home. She is determined to save Earth and will follow him anywhere. But she wakes up and finds herself abandoned on a distant and dangerous planet. Rachel finds herself needing to put her trust in Dex's brother, the heir to the Venon throne. I enjoyed reading this book and can't wait to read more by the author.

Excellent Story!!

I loved the story! It was gripping and fast paced, I really came to care for the characters. I did not enjoy the narrator. For me, she was almost monotone, not the right choice for this story. The story would benefit from a more dynamic narration, but all in all enjoyable.

Entertaining Series! Fun Alien Invasion Premise!

I listened to the audio for the boxset of this series. Love that I could get the audio with all 3 books in it. The narration was okay. She did a clear performance and fit the characters well enough; the narration just didn't flow at times. Still I'd recommend it.

Really enjoyed this series as a whole! Lots of entertainment and a fun premise. Here are my reviews for each book in this boxset.

Review for Book 1 - The Traveler - 4 stars
The writing and premise is a little basic, but I love alien invasion stories so I rated this a 4. Add in some romance and I'm entertained. I liked that the characters are a bit older; in their mid 20's. I appreciated that there was a touch more maturity to the story. Rachel works as a news anchor when Earth begins to be invaded by aliens (humanoid type aliens). These aliens have some interesting powers; controlling the weather being one of them. Rachel is shocked when one of the aliens is none other than a guy she fell in love with years ago, Dex. Dex has done some very bad things and is dangerous, but Rachel can't help but want to trust him. Love that this story gets right into the action! Rachel and some others need to find a way to survive and take these aliens out before they take over Earth. Entertaining story the whole way through. There's some sweet romance too. Liked the forbidden aspect between Dex and Rachel; they have a nice connection. Looking forward to seeing where these characters end up; this one ends with more questions that need to be answered. On to the next book!

Review for book 1.5 - The Survivor - 3 stars
This is a very short book about what's happening on Earth after the aliens invaded. You should definitely start with book 1 before reading this short story. Rachel went with Dex and his alien siblings into Space; Dex's father was supposed to stop invading Earth, but Dex's father is a liar. This short story focuses on Darren and Kate; friends of Rachel's, as they try to survive. There's a bit of romance and a bit of action, but I wish there was a bit more to the story. It is a short story, but I still needed a bit more. There is a cliffhanger. Looking forward to reading the next book. Excited to catch up with Rachel in Space!

Review for book 2 - Saviour - 4 stars
Fun conclusion to this series! Enjoyed the Space adventure Rachel finds herself on. Make sure to start with book 1 of this series before reading this. Rachel finds herself in a very dangerous situation when Dex's evil father tried to have her killed. Luckily, Dex's brother, Amarox, thinks fast and ends up saving her life, but things don't exactly go smoothly. Rachel finds herself in multiple dangerous situations; trying to take out an evil alien overlord is tough work, but she also finds support in some unexpected allies. Dex is still with his father, so he's not there to help Rachel. Rachel is a tough cookie though, and proves she's a force to be reckoned with. Entertaining story the whole way through! I would've loved a bit more romance; I was a bit disappointed with Dex, but there's still some sweet moments. The writing is still a bit basic, but the story has some unique elements that kept me engrossed. Enjoyed the whole series!

attention grabbing & captivating

I like to go into a book with no knowledge of the story sometimes. I'm glad I did with this series. It was entertaining at the start, seemed like a realistic fiction, then BOOM! Aliens. Characters were well developed and the writing was such that I was able to picture every moment. Will absolutely read again.

Story is great!

Melissa Delport is becoming one of my favorite authors. Her stories are entertaining, unique and I hate pausing them. This set was no different. I didn't want the story to end. The narrator needs work sadly. She may have been new, I don't know, but she mispronounces a good handful of easy words. She tries to be enthusiastic by putting some drama into the voices of each character. But I found myself giggling because it's just so amateur. But I still really enjoyed the books, especially in audio. I can go through way more books this way. I get to "read" while working. This box set is very much worth your time and money based on the story line, but just know this isn't pro quality yet.

a different take on a familiar story line

I enjoyed the premise of this story line. Aliens instead of men ending the world, but these Aliens look like humans. there is a love interest, and a few twists. And of course, the character building and growth is on point! I mean, we are talking about Melissa Delport after all!
Honestly, the narrator was not for me. However, I am very picky. And it didn't distract from the books.
Give these a shot. You will be hooked before you know it!

War of the Worlds

There is a lot of action on this story and so much involvesd I do not know where to begin. It involves falling in love with an alien who's race comes back to take over earth. it's a fight for freedom, love and overtaking a cruel leader. I received a complimentary audio and this review is voluntary.

pretty good story!😊⭐⭐⭐⭐

this story was pretty good and entertaining. the author depicts action seems very well the kind of leaves the main character out of the action in terms of action. there's battle scenes where the main characters just standing there screaming her head off ... repetitively repeating "no." I didn't really like this as it happened and I think both the first and third book.
OK,😬 they tell you not to be mean in the reviews so I will do my best to not come off as mean but to tell the facts they are... I think English is the narrator's second language. I don't mind that she pronounces some words with a little accent sometimes BUT it grinds my gears when she doesn't eat even read the word correct. There are so many instances where the narrator just pronounces the word wrong and just keeps going. I really felt this story would have been a lot more engaging / luring with a better narrator.

Was a good YA series.

I enjoyed this series as a YA series. Though there were moments that I was frustrated with the main character. I felt there were moments that she didn’t know what she wanted and she was very back and forth about her stances on things. However as the books go on more things make sense and she becomes a more defined character within herself. The protagonist/heroine was more entertaining to me and had more depth to his character when it came to motivation. Over all I enjoyed the series and was able to overlook the minor annoyances or hiccups that may have occurred story wise. I was given this book for my unbiased review. I would definitely recommend for YA listeners want to be entertained with a complete story.
