Publisher's Summary

If you have to be stuck in a curse with monsters, they might as well be sexy monsters.

When I answered an ad for a caretaker at Saint Mark’s Sanctuary, I thought I’d be dusting chandeliers and polishing floors. I didn’t expect to be tricked into a curse, going into debt to a monster, and being forced to take a self-paced “let’s learn magic” course so I can fix a 2,000-year-old problem.

And that monster? Not your ordinary, everyday beast. He has hooves, and horns, and fur on his legs. But you know where he doesn’t have fur? Yeah. There. Which is fine. Except he doesn’t wear pants.

Nothing at Saint Mark’s is exactly what it seems. The entire inside is magic, the hallways upstairs are nothing but parties from the past, and the super-hot guy who lives in the dungeon? Yeah. Not human.

My name is Pie, and all I want is to be a normal girl with an average life. I refuse to get stuck in this curse. I refuse to learn magic to break it. And there is no way in hell I will fall in love with a monster. Famous. Last. Words.

Brilliant!

Five stars are not enough for this world of Gods and Monsters. K. C. Cross, aka JA Huss, nailed it again. I'm not a fan of PNR reads, but again Huss is writing it, and look at that cover, how could you not be intrigued.

This world was magical, fun, and fascinating. I didn't want it to end. I got so lost in it that after I finished, I had to grab the audiobook and get lost in that too because, Duh! Jason Clarke and Hathaway Lee, made this world come to life. They made you feel as if you were experiencing the words they were reading. I love it when an author and narrator can do that. Bring a book so alive!! I can't wait for book two!

MONSTERS & MAYHEM.. DONE BY A MAESTRO STORYTELLER💕

What a fun fantasy/paranormal world twenty five year old Pie gets trapped in.. a curse, magic, monsters, a ring, an Eros, potions, Gods, myths, spells, and mysterious strings. One of the strings Pie unwittingly walks into is becoming trapped in St. Mark’s as it’s caretaker.. and bound to a hoofed horned sexy Satyr Chimera monster called Pell. And, with the help of Tomas another ‘strange’ resident trapped in The Sanctuary for 2,000 years, Pie slowly settles into her strange new role and its bizarre rules.. and into the ever-changing even stranger house. But Pell…..??, well he’s a whole other wonderfully weird story.

The intrigue and outstanding multi-layered world-building by KCK (aka JA Huss) is absolutely phenomenal and epic. Her flawed characters draw you in as Pie, Pell, Tomas and Pie’s imaginary (or not) talking colorful sparrow Pia take you on a fantastical quest with boundless paranormal possibilities. The quick-witted banter and animosity between Pie and Pell was such fun as they went head-to-head.. once Pie had stopped screaming of course!! I’m in awe over Julie’s complex creativity and vivid descriptions and how she masterfully weaves a sweet sizzling enemies-lovers romance within its chapters. And who better to bring out Pell’s monstrous side, his warmth, his sex appeal and charm other than the supremely talented Jason Clarke who makes every book a joy 😘x.. and Hathaway Lee did a brilliant job too bringing Pie’s alternate POV chapters and characters to life.

Worth a credit? Yes, it blew by mind.. and I’m so looking forward to Book two sometime next year.. no pressure Julie.. my EOBS 😉.

Sexy monsters are, well, sexy (& fun)!

"Damaged Gods" (Monsters of Saint Mark's, Book 1), a paranormal monster romance by JA Huss/ KC Cross, is imaginative, twisted, magical, and just plain fun.

Cursed and confined to Saint Mark's Sanctuary for over two millennia, Pell is a well-endowed, hella hot satyr chimera who doesn't like to wear pants (or shirts) and enjoys a good horn job every now and then. Pie, a possibly crazy homeless girl who carries a talking bird in her pocket, has no idea what she's getting into when she applies for a job as a caretaker at the sanctuary after seeing a flyer posted in a grimy gas station. Cross' vivid and creative world-building pulls you into the mystical (but somehow realistic and believable) world of gods and monsters, and Saint Mark's Sanctuary seems more like a character than a place. And, thanks to the dramatic narration by Hathaway Lee and Jason Clarke, this audiobook plays like a movie in your mind.

You never know where JA Huss/ KC Cross will take you, but I always go along eagerly and with an open mind. I can't wait to see where the next book takes us.

Delightful

The story draws you in slowly, the characters developed slowly and the end has a twist I never saw coming, and that was a nice surprise. There's a lot of story and very little sex. But saying that the story is beautiful and well worth listening to.

Brilliant

Welcome to the mythical magical quirky and totally different world Julie has made for us
her imagination knows no bounds
and I love it !
We are living in an ancient world of gods and creatures or monsters depending of your point of view.
With magic, spells and curses
How can this curse be broken
That’s the care takers job
But what if the care taker does not know magic or how to break the curse
Meet Pie who after a halloween party she finds an ad for a caretakers job at a gas station and goes to St Marks Sanctuary where she finds herself trading places with the current caretaker and is then trapped in a world full of adventures with dragons and satyrs who are hot, well endowed, is that a bad thing. Hell No !
BUT PUT SOME PANTS ON!!!
Pie meets Pell and Thomas also trapped in the sanctuary and the three of them begin trying to break the curse
This is a fabulous book with twists and turns but so much fun and it ends with me needing the next book !
Wow so great I loved it !
And the EOBS never stop writing that crazy twisted shit you are so so brilliant at. Your books are so vastly different and how you pull all the stories cleverly together amazes me and I can’t get enough of them ❤️
Love the voices as alway xx
