Publisher's summary

I don’t play by the rules. Never have, never will.

The second our eyes met from across the club, I could feel a shift in the air—an overwhelming pull drawing me in. One mind-blowing night is all it was, or so I thought.

Repeating my senior year may not have been the plan, but finding out my one-night stand is my new teacher—that’s something I never saw coming.

His gaze bores into me with the same intensity. That body, those hands, I remember every touch. I should stay away, but I don’t want to.

This time, all bets are off. I’ll let him think he’s in control—until I bring him to his knees.

Passion and fire. Forbidden and wrong.

Like I said, I don’t play by the rules.

The Rebel is a standalone in the Haven Grace Prep series. It contains sensitive topics that may not be suitable for all listeners.

Wow

Saw this on booktok but wasn’t sure because of the lack of reviews. But i’m a sucker for an age gap romance so I gave it a shot and I’m glad I took a chance because I LOVED IT! I laughed and cried and didn’t want to stop listening! Usually I skip a few times with any book but with this one I didn’t! It’s exciting and keeps you hooked. I loved the FMC, she wasn’t winey like most of the FMC’s I read about. Also, it gives a real look at the aftermath of trauma and mental illness. Check your TW before listening. I listened to this as a stand alone but now I’m going to listen to the rest of the series! Spice was good but not too much of it I’d give it 🌶️🌶️ . Narration was perfect!

Forbidden and Emotional

Tessa is 18 and repeating her senior year in high school since she was never a good student but also went through a trauma. She is sassy and unhinged who goes for what she wants.
Asher is 28 and injured playing football. His career is gone so he decides to teach English and coach football in a local high school. Love how possessive Asher is!

There is a lot of back and forth as Asher is Tessa’s teacher but the attraction is hard to ignore. There is good writing as the story discusses real feelings behind suffering from PTSD, mental health concerns and addiction. Nice steamy scenes and enjoyable banter among the friends.

Especially loved seeing cameos of prior characters ❤️
