Publisher's summary

Prince Bernd:

As Prince of the Bear Shifters, I knew the time would come for me to prove myself worthy of my crown. I expected my quest to be perilous. What I didn’t expect was for it to take me up into Espen Mountain, a place that’s brought me nothing but grief and terrible nightmares. Not only must I find the five magical ingredients, but I have to do so alongside Saer, a mysterious and charming shifter coyote summoned by the king to be my guide. But who is Saer, and why do I feel as if we’ve met before?

Saer:

Crushing on Prince Bernd from afar was one thing. Being given the responsibility of saving the prince and his kingdom was a whole other story. Banished from my kingdom by my own prince years ago, I never imagined I would be summoned to help Bernd. What could I possibly offer a prince? How was I supposed to save him? I was no one. A shifter with no place to call home. What I did know was that I would do everything in my power to help Bernd succeed on his quest. All I had to do was stop crushing on the guy, find the magical ingredients hidden up a dangerous mountain, and save his heart. What could go wrong?

Thoroughly enjoyable, if slightly juvenile

When I say 'juvenile' it's not meant as an insult! I really did enjoy this book, and I'm sure I will enjoy the next one just as much! The reason why I say juvenile is because other than the sex it felt more like a teenage romance instead of the adult romance it is. Again, it's not criticism! I love the book, And I'm not entirely sure what about it made me feel like If you took out the two sex scenes it would be a great young audience book. maybe it's just me! Greg Boudreaux, as always, didn't incredible job! I would absolutely recommend buying this audiobook!

Enjoyable!

This was a quick book that was very satisfying. The emotions of the characters and descriptions of the locations were written as if you were on the quest with them. Although I feel complete with the book it really could have been longer without adding fluff.

Wonderful story!

I absolutely love this cute little series and the characters in these stories are wonderful! Prince Bernd seems so oblivious to what is going on around him but his quest opens his eyes and how he handles that revelation is perfection. Saer is adorable and cuddly and one of my favorite characters in this series. Narration was very well done.

When a bear falls in love with a coyote

I really loved the first book one the series and I was eagerly awaiting for the next book so this couldn’t have come at any better time. So sweet!

Prince Bernd is immersed in a deep grief when his father the King passed away. He had an extremely good relationship with his dad and when his father passed away in an accident, he was there to witness the whole tragedy. So it hit him really hard. Saer has always been in love with the prince but he knows that it’s a hopeless case. When the high king commanded that he accompany Prince Bernd to go on a journey that will prove his entitlement to the kingdom, Saer knew he was in trouble. How to hide this love that’s been blossomed for a long time?

This was a bit more angsty than the first book but still it was very sweet and funny. I loved the secondary characters in the story especially the mother and the teenage sister. This was such an enjoyable audio. I really can’t wait for next book in the series. I want the high king’s story.

Heartbreak to happiness

Prince Bernd, a bear shifter, is still grieving the loss of his father. He also witnesses his death... The King of all shifters decided its time Bernd dealt with his issues. He sends him on a quest with Saer. Saer, a coyote shifter, is the royal carpenter in Bernd land. I loved the banter between the two men. Saer definitely doesn’t make it easy for Bernd. This story has the hurt/comfort element in it. Saer was the perfect choice to help Bernd deal with his demons. I hadn’t listened to book 1 of this series before this one but I didn’t feel lost in the story. Greg Boudreaux did a great job with the narration.

Fast, Fun Listen

This is a pretty quick and fun listen with a little intrigue and some heavier emotions tossed in. It's a great story that keeps you guessing a bit and the narrator really does a great job. I would recommend going in order with this series. It's not necessarily necessary but you'll enjoy it more that way.
