I am a engineering student and as she said my mind is always wanting to stay in action. I started this book at a 2.60x pace while working on something else and it was boring. Then, I started listening at 1.60x when doing a handstand practice in the morning and the book started to make sense. I feel like I have someone to blame when I am scared (she guides you how to identify the judgmental you) and overall the book made me feel better about loving myself.

Be ready, be calmed and then listen.

The content is good, you will probably feel like you’ve heard something of this before. The last minutes can be overwhelming if you don’t really like meditating, you can skip it though.

It has tools you that can work in your life if you apply them.

Great look at mindfulness meditation and compassion, along with the science to understand why these thing are so powerful. I found this book very useful, as someone who's been researching/practicing mindfulness meditation for the past 6+ months. A lot of good and useful information for such a short listen, including multiple guided meditations.

I've listened to other books on self compassion, this one makes it easy! The author makes the concepts easy to understand and apply!

Her description of mindfulness is accurate. Using her methods will help halt the left brain rant. Do it as often as brushing your teeth or looking in the mirror. U can love what is unconscious. That is self love.

I believe I chose this as one of the free books of the month and I took a chance on it. The book was so awesome. I loved the content, her speaking voice, the ideas she provided for me -they might be common for others but they were tangible techniques that I can use immediately to help reduce my stress and to be kinder to myself. I thoroughly enjoyed that it was broken up into classes which made me feel like I was learning something in bite size pieces. I plan to listen to the book /attend class for the next couple of weeks with you book, take notes and practice with the suggestions. It was surprisingly helpful to me so far.
