Publisher's summary

Eve, along with her sister Zoey, has an uncanny knack for helping people who frequent the Pike bakery at Pike Place Market in Seattle to find love. Her meddling is a thing of legends when it comes to matchmaking. But for Eve, it is a spectator sport as she has never really pursued a romantic relationship of her own.

Love was for other people, and she basked in the results of watching people find their happily-ever-afters. Imagine her surprise when serendipity came knocking and she found herself falling head over heels.

Her family has been dying of curiosity for months to find out who has Eve sneaking off to talk to in the middle of movies, or has her turning down events because she "has a date." Her secret has them all frantically trying to discover who has stolen the red-headed dynamo's heart.

Eve promises everyone that her certain someone will be attending their annual family Thanksgiving celebration...but first, she has to pick up a family friend from London at the airport.

(The Pike series is set in the same world as Music of the Soul and London Harmony, and can be read as a stand-alone book.)

OMG!

This is one of those stories that you really need to have a working knowledge of the MOTS stories to understand who everyone is but is still a great stand alone story. It is funny yet heart warming as well. I am just sad that this is the last story in the series.

Excellent Audio!

I loved The Pike: New Beginnings. It was great to be back at the Pike Bakery. Great to see Paya over from the UK. Allyson Voller does an excellent job with the narration.

Great conclusion

This is a great conclusion to three series! I am excited where the series goes next! If you have read Erik’s “Music Of The Soul”, “London Harmony”, and “The Pike” series, this book has brought all the story lines together in their meeting point.
I am excited where the author goes next with the story line, as he passes the tortch to the next generation of people that will grow themselves!

Texting it in

I was ecstatic at the idea of Eve Rand finding a love life, I thought that her character was great and the byplay between her and Zoe was hilarious and well done. Unfortunately this book lacks much of a plot and serves mainly as a way for the author to revisit a plethora of characters of past books from all three of the connected series of the author. While I'm not familiar with the London Harmony series, the list of familiar names from both the MOTS and the Pike series is long. Let's begin with Mandy Fay Harris, Annabelle West, Dave and Serena Rand, Mia Jacobs, Crystal James, Bobbi and Blake Valentine, Skylar and Kimi Roth, Penny Franklin and Sandra Callahan, Kylie Nelson, aw never mind, you get the picture. While I'm not opposed to dropping the occasional name from past books it's no substitute for an actual plot; I got the feeling that this story began as a MOTS short. Then there was Pasha heading out for a night spent with an ex-lover at a pivotal point in her relationship with Eve; definitely a bad idea as well as somewhat cruel to Eve I truly enjoyed the first three books of this series and had high expectations of this one, needless to say they weren't met.
