Great except...

This was the first audible book I listened to where the narrator was insufferably terrible. I had to grit my teeth when the narrator voiced Carter. Abby was not much better—she sounded like she was being choked the whole time. HOWEVER, this was still an amazing book that I really enjoyed. The plot was good and it was never slow.

A great storey

Loved the ending.

This book was done very well. The reader really helped characterize everyone and it was easy to follow along. The story had enough twists and turns to make it exciting.

Amazing read/listen

This is a book I would definitely recommend to others. the overall story was great and the narrator was very good though I think this would be better done as a duet. (the rest will contain spoilers).

I would listen to this narrator again, the biggest issue with the read is the voice of Carter. I get what the narrator was doing with his character, but it just would throw me a little everytime his character spoke.

The story itself was great. I love how it bounced between the Affair Partners, spouses, and one of the daughters POV. However, to be nit picky, I think the story would have been better if the "betrayed" partners weren't heavily vilified, particularly Gwen's. Gwen's story would have been more interesting and impactful if she was the resentful housewife turned to spurned lover lashing out in anger instead of the narcissistic monster wife.

The ending with Tara (I think that was her name) was a little irritating, but not unexpected.

overall, 9/10.

Outstanding

Such a great listen! Love the story line and readers voice. I’ve read many books by this author and always love the plot twists!

Took a long time to get into it

I kept waiting for the intrigue and it was all in the last hour and took some weird turns.

Unsatisfying ending to a bland storyline. Writing style and narration kept me interested, but not a recommendable book.

Classic Margot Hunt story with the twisty ending

The narrative was good overall. Able to keep multiple voices consistent …BUT her voice for Carter was terrible!

I really enjoy Margot’s characters and the little twists in each book. These have been great to listen to and I’m always excited to get in the car and listen to the next chapter.

Supremely meh

I’ve enjoyed Margot Hunt’s past books, but this one was slow and rather predictable. I was expecting a much faster pace, and it didn’t really get good until the last hour.
