Publisher's Summary

On their first date back in law school, Natalie and Will Clarke bonded over drinks, dinner, and whether they could get away with murder. Now married, they’ll put the latter to the test when an unchecked danger in their community places their son in jeopardy. Working as a criminal defense attorney, Nat refuses to rely on the broken legal system to keep her family safe. She knows that if you want justice...you have to get it yourself.

Shocked to discover Nat’s taken matters into her own hands, Will has no choice but to dirty his, also. His family is in way too deep to back down now. He’s just not sure he recognizes the woman he married. Nat’s always been fiercely protective, but never this ruthless or calculating.

With the police poking holes in their airtight plan, what will be the first to fall apart: their scandalous secret - or their marriage?

I never wanted it to end!

This was by far one of my favorite books. It was riveting! The narrator was incredible and I certainly didn't see that ending coming.

Totally awful

(Spoilers) This is a case study in how not to write about sexual abuse. The characters (particularly Natalie) were using so much victim shaming as their motivation for acting, and it was painful to listen to this portrayed so self-righteously. What a horrible narrative to put out into the world! If you're a survivor of sexual abuse or assault, this book is one you should skip. It's triggering and relies on awful outdated stereotypes (including the myth that survivors of abuse become abusers themselves). (Also, the ending is super unrealistic.)

Brilliant

For Better and Worse is a brilliantly written book with a clever plot, flawed characters and a lot of dramatic tension and suspense. Cassandra Campbell is the perfect narrator for this book. She portrays Natalie as cold and unemotional on the outside, but still allowed her to be vulnerable on the inside. While the subject matter of the story is sensitive, it's handled realistically from a variety of different points of views. This is definitely in the top 5 books I have listened to this year.

FOR BETTER AND WORSE.....was better, better......

FOR BETTER AND WORSE was much, much better than your average audiobook.

Great plot....terrific narrator (I can listen to Cassandra Campbell read the phone book!)....and impossible to put down. I listened to the book in one day because I just could not stop listening.. (So much for Sunday's "TO DO" list!) The character development was strong and the ending was hard to predict.

I listened to Margot Hunt's "BEST FRIENDS FOREVER" and it was excellent. "FOR BETTER AND WORSE" was even better.

FINALLY....a book that was not a wasted credit!

Great story but lacks a good ending

I was hooked on this book I listened to it in about 2 days I love the narrator, but when it came to the ending it seemed kind of lazy. I'm not going to spoil it for anyone, throughout the book it builds with anticipation to end on a flat note. kind of disappointed but loved the story and narrator.

Skip this one...you’ll thank me

I can not recommend this ridiculous story at all. And I hate to not recommend a book. The narrator even sounds bored. There just wasn’t a redeeming character or plot development worth mentioning so I won’t. Sigh...

5 Stars

This is easily one of the best books I have ever listened to. I'm glad that Bea suggested it for my book club. I immediately got the next book by this author. I hope it's just as good.

Excellent

Once I got into this book, I found it thoroughly engrossing. The story was excellent and so was the narration.
