Publisher's summary

Cameron Cruz, quarterback for the Denver Storm, doesn't expect to meet a beautiful woman in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, while he's grieving a major life loss. But a spunky river guide blitzes him when she doesn't know who he is. C'mon...anyone who doesn't know he won the championship game must be stuck under a rock. Good thing she made it clear she was unavailable by flashing a big diamond ring in his face.

Katherine Foster only wanted one thing this summer - to finish her dissertation and spend some time on the river. She never anticipated getting stuck taking the cocky, arrogant Cameron Cruz on a privately guided rafting trip. Her fake engagement ring keeps him at bay until they get tossed into the river and Cam saves her life. In a moment of confusion and just-escaped-death euphoria, they share a kiss that tilts her world. She didn't plan on telling him she's not really engaged - but somehow that slipped out, and now she's sure she's not the only one with secrets.

When her ex-boyfriend shows up and asks her to marry him, Kat's left with a choice - get what she wants...or pick second string.

Enthralling

Would you consider the audio edition of The Football Groom to be better than the print version?

I enjoyed the audio version a lot because I can listen while I travel. I still have printed copies of books from Taylor Hart.

What did you like best about this story?

The part of the book that hooked me were the main characters. Taylor brought in their families and friends without loosing the story. It felt real.

Which scene was your favorite?

My favorite scene was the part where Cam met all the neighbors and they formed the Junto Club. The expressions and banter that went along with good people coming together was heartwarming.

Great Story

The narration by James Fouhey was very enjoyable. He did the different characters without adding "squeaky" voices. Some narrarators try to imitate how they believe the character should sound. The voice changes are sometimes disturbing. Cameron and Catherine are both grieving loses in their lives: not looking for any attachments. She wears a fake engagement ring and he doesn't shave and is wearing a full face, scruffy breard so no one will recognize him as the famous football player for Colorado.. Will they allow themselves to relax enough to find their HEA? This audiobook can be listened to by anyone. It is a clean romance that many will enjoy.
