Publisher's Summary

Fake romance shouldn’t feel this real....

Will: I've never been with a man.

Sure, I've thought about it. Wondered. Daydreamed. Imagined. But I wasn't ready to take the leap.

I have a reputation as a "ladies' man". No one has any idea how curious I am about men—not even my openly bi best friend. Make that former best friend. Michael ghosted me, and I have no idea why.

Michael: The man I love is straight.

It hurt like hell when I had to distance myself from Will. I’ve tried desperately to grow up and get over him, but my carefully constructed life just fell apart—and Will rushes to my rescue.

Now we’re pretending to be a couple to impress his boss at a holiday retreat. We’re holding hands and hugging.

We’re sharing a bed.

And Will just kissed me.

Is my best friend falling in love with me after all?

The Christmas Leap by Keira Andrews is a Christmas romance featuring friends to lovers, bi awakening, first times, and of course a happy ending. This stand-alone novel takes place in the same universe as The Christmas Deal.

Fantastic Narration

Greg Beaudreaux elevates every book he narrates. His accents are fantastic, and he’s truly challenged in this book!

The story of a bi-awakening and best friends to lovers is always a favorite of mine, and this did not disappoint. I wish these characters were better at communicating, but once they figured it out, it was so sweet and steamy, too! I enjoyed the side characters as well. All in all a great holiday listen.

📖 Story comment: Good pace, likeable characters, entertaining story.
A cute bi-awakening, fake relationship, feel-good story. A little predictable, but that's what I enjoy about most holiday romances, this one is made all the better with an excellent supporting cast.

🎧 Narrator comment: Greg Boudreaux is a master storyteller. His performance enhances the emotions, he suits these characters, has good cadence, inflections and intonations and it's easy to distinguish the characters from each other (love the Scottish accent!). Overall an enjoyable performance and one I will happily relisten to again.

Great story

I love this author’s books, no matter where it’s set or the subject matter. I also loved the Christmas Deal so when I saw this book, I knew I would have to read it! I fell in love with Michael and Will almost instantly. Michael has been compromising in relationships, trying to find something that would be picture perfect even if it didn’t feel 100% right, all in order to forget his best friend. He should have known better because there was no way he could just bury his love for his best friend, even if he could never feel the same way back. Will doesn’t understand why Michael just disappeared, but now he is back. This is a trope that can go horribly wrong but yet it is one of my favorites. This is the fake relationship with a bit of long time pining for your best friend thrown in. And Angela is a force of nature. I love all of the characters surrounding our MCs. They are part of what makes this story so good. Not that Kiera Andrews is capable of letting me down. This story was a mix of Christmas cheer and warm spices and fuzzy feelings all wrapped into one big holiday package. It just feels so good to read it. Left me feeling light and happy, which is just perfect. And Greg Boudreaux’s narration makes any story better. I love listening to his voice and his characterizations are spot on. Loved it !

Finally recognizing what’s right in front of you

I loved Michael and Will’s best friends to lovers, fake relationship, forced proximity, bi-awakening story. It is smart funny and wildly appealing delicious perfection. The story is full of swoons, laughs, drama, sweet moments, strong families, supportive friends, sexy times, painful pasts, and love. Michael has been in love with his straight best friend, Will, for years. Attempting to get over him, Michael ghosts him for two years. But after an unexpected painful breakup and a car breakdown, Michael calls Will for help and .Will picks him up on the way to his company’s retreat. A misunderstanding has them sharing a bed and in a fake relationship as they fast track the journey to their HEA. The path to get to their HEA is so painfully beautiful and you will feel all the things along the way. Expect to laugh, to cry, to swoon, to grit your teeth, to roll your eyes, to gasp, and to cheer. Most of all, expect to fall in love with Will and Michael.

Greg Boudreaux did a phenomenal job narrating the story and breathing life into the characters and the story with enough change of inflection, tone and cadence to voice multiple characters quite convincingly. I especially loved her narration in Will’s Scottish accent.

Perfect fake boyfriend Christmas story

Opening the Christmas season reading with The Christmas Leap was *chef’s kiss.* Chalked full of your favorite tropes - fake boyfriend primarily, but with a smattering of just one bed, second chances, and friends to lovers, Kierra Andrews includes it all. Michael and his boyfriend break up just before the holidays (Michael’s favorite time of year, of course) leading to a series of events that cause Will and Michael to reconnect after two years. The characters and story have just enough angst to make it interesting but it’s definitely an easier read or listen. Greg Boudreaux does an excellent job with narration, including the female voices (namely Will’s boss who is frequently featured) and Will’s hot accent. With a surprise breakup including an epic fall with a Christmas tree and a bottle of wine, and unexpected blast from the past phone call, and just the right timing with a work gathering, this series of misadventures ultimately leads to Will and Michael’s HEA.

This can definitely be read as a stand-alone though the characters from the previous book were featured several times and now I want to read that too.

One small step for man, one giant leap for Will

Fake Boyfriends
Bi-awakening
Best friends to lovers

These are a few of my favorite things.

Michael is dumped right before Christmas. He calls on his reliable friend, Will, to help him in his time of need. Although they have not spoken in 2 years, for reasons, Will is happy to help. Somehow they end up at Will's work retreat pretending to be together.

It was a fun, sweet read.

The audio was fantastic. Greg Boudreaux is top notch and one of my favorites.

Greg was great but…

This book is not great. Generic writing, generic characters in a plot that’s been done so many times I felt I’d already read this story before. Listening to Greg’s Scottish accent is the only thing that saved this listen for me.

Twas sweet...

I just want to say that I loved this story, but they weren't kidding about the slowburn. Man, I was dying for the first 60% of this book.

So we have Michael, a guy who is basically a pushover who found out right before Christmas that his boyfriend has wanted to break up with him for months. Hurt, he starts driving and breaks down on the side of the road. The first person he calls is his best friend that he ghosted two years ago, Will.

Will actually answers and goes to rescue him and brings him along to his company's holiday trip. This is the same company from The Christmas Deal. Will is still hurt about being ghosted but still cares for Michael. Will is also into guys but has not told anyone.

These two get even closer and fall in love even more.

Personally, I did not think that there was enough groveling from Michael but outside of that, they were perfect for each other.

Greg Boudreaux did an awesome job with the accent of Will, and I enjoyed the narration a lot.

So Much Fun! Boudreaux is Wonderful

Aaaawwww, so much fun! Best friends to lovers, fake boyfriends, first time gay, bi-awakening, and a magical Christmas holiday in Australia. Keira Andrews puts her fun and festive twist on all of it. If you're ready to start celebrating the holiday season, The Christmas Leap is a great place to start.

Beautifully narrated by Greg Broudreaux, do The Christmas Leap in audio. You won't regret it!

The Christmas Leap

Greg Boudreaux made this listen for me. He is absolutely phenomenal!!!

Decent story and a good couple. I enjoyed the story. I will say that the characters are awfully self-aware to be such bad communicators. Glad I listened, and I’ll probably check out more from the author.

friends to lovers

Keira Andrews has written a wonderful Christmas story. Michael's Christmas goes so very differently than planned when he overhears a phone call his boyfriend has made. He ends up with car trouble in the middle of nowhere and calls his former best friend Will, whom he hasn't seen in two years. And what begins as a fake boyfriend relationship in front of Will's boss ends in a Christmas vacation together. But how long can a fake relationship be faked when real feelings are involved? Will and Michael are both very sympathetic and I found this storyline sweet and heartwarming. And even though there is no snow, there is a festive mood. There is some laughter, lots of feelings, lots of sunshine, nice secondary protagonists, romance and of course love. If you like friends to lovers and that at Christmas, you should listen to this audiobook. I was hooked from the beginning and listened to the audiobook in just two days.

Greg Boudreaux was brilliant as the narrator. He brought the story to life with an ease and gave appropriate voices to the characters. I love his Scottish accent! I will definitely be looking for more audiobooks by this narrator.

Holiday Cheer

The Christmas Leap is a feel-good, sweet romance that’s part of the Festive Fakes series. However, it can easily be read as a standalone, although it did make me want to go and read the first book in the series, The Christmas Deal, after I finished The Christmas Leap.

Keira Andrews created a Hallmark worthy story that took the reader on a lightly-emotional journey across the ocean. The fake boyfriend/friends-to-lovers tropes were well done. I really enjoyed the build up of the romance between Michael and Will. Their relationship felt natural and healthy and provoked an interesting self-discovery for Will.

The audiobook was narrated by Greg Boudreaux who did a great job. Greg enhanced the romantic atmosphere with his smooth voice and lovely performance of the characters. I loved all the different accents and voices he did throughout this book. The audiobook production was well done.

A Scottish Brogue and a rekindled friendship.

Great story about two friends who have drifted apart due to a relationship and one friend falling in love with the other, but unknown to them.

Two years later, fate intervenes, and an amazing story unravels.

Greg Boudreaux does a fantastic job narrating this book, especially with the Scottish accents. I speed this narration up to 1.10 on Audible, which is usual for me.

lovely story,

I loved the story between Will & Michael though and the time they spent together in Australia was written beautifully but i thought the ending was rushed . The trip to Australia was little over a week then all of a sudden the epilogue is 2 years later. I really enjoyed how they realised their love for each other.
I have only listened to one other Greg Boudreaux's books but top marks for his sexy Scotland accent. Worth a credit, overall a lovely listen.

A Wonderfully Delightful Story & Listen🎧

This is a heartwarming and wonderfully delightful holiday romance, one you can enjoy any time of the year. The story grabbed my attention right from the start and captivated it the entire time. The characters are realistic, easy to relate to and connect with, they are easy to care about too. Michael was looking forward to spending his first Christmas with Jared, his live-in boyfriend, left work early to surprise him with their first Christmas tree, but the surprise was on him after overhearing Jared’s conversation and learning how he felt and what his intentions were. So their first Christmas together would never happen and now Michael needs to figure things out, including finding a place to live. Trying to clear his mind, he takes a drive, but since it has not been his luckiest of days, his car dies and the wait for a tow truck is hours long. Going thru his phone, he calls an old friend, Will, one he has been thinking about, thankfully he picks up and says he will go pick him up even though he did not ask him to. I adored these two guys, and it was great to watch them reconnect and rekindle their friendship. Will brought him to his work event and his boss assumes they were a couple and asked Michael to roll with it. These two were great together and for each other, even just as friends, Michael feels more for Will but nothing will happen since Will is straight, or is he? I loved how everything played out in this friends to lovers romance, it is a beautifully plotted story with a perfect balance of drama, humor, heartfelt emotions and steam. Kiera Andrews, thank you for another fabulously enjoyable story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 And for the fabulous narration, Kiera Andrews chose the perfect narrator to bring her characters and story to life. Greg Boudreaux is a wonderfully talented narrator and a versatile voice artist. He has a complete understanding of the characters he is portraying and gives each a voice that fits that character’s persona to a tee, accent, and all. I love how he takes each role, runs with it and makes it his own, sounding believable and just as I picture they would sound. You could hear how much heart he puts into his work as he captures the character’s emotions and projects them into his performance. He set the perfect tone for the story, handled the witty dialogue with ease, landing the humor effortlessly. Boudreaux is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another amazing listen.
