Publisher's summary

The job at Sunday Orchard was supposed to be temporary.

A chance to gain some work experience. To have some fun. To get away from my overprotective brothers. To maybe, possibly encounter some lumberjacks in their natural habitat before moving on to the dream career that awaited me in the city.

I had not expected to be welcomed into a family of gorgeous and weirdly efficient lumberjack-types myself. Or to find a purpose in the tiny Vermont town whose claim to fame seemed to be apple-based products and copious amounts of charm.

And I most definitely hadn’t expected to fall for Knox Sunday, my grumpy, burly, fifteen-years-older, reluctant roommate, with his infuriating lectures, his hot-as-fire body, his superior attitude, his snarky humor, and his stealthy cuddles.

Now I find myself making excuses to delay my big dreams....just for a little while.

But Knox has unfulfilled dreams of his own- a career he walked away from. A big city life in Boston he left behind, when he returned to his hometown to help his family. He claims he’s not looking for anything permanent, and I’ve never been one to put down roots.

My big life is waiting for me somewhere other than Little Pippin Hollow. So why does it feel like I’ve finally found the home of my heart?

And how can I get Knox Sunday to....pick me?

Pick Me

An entertaining and emotional story about realizing what you are worth to the right people.

𝙃𝙖𝙫𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙂𝙖𝙜𝙚 𝙨𝙤 𝙘𝙡𝙤𝙨𝙚 𝙗𝙪𝙩 𝙨𝙤 𝙘𝙡𝙤𝙨𝙚𝙙 𝙤𝙛𝙛 𝙬𝙖𝙨 𝙡𝙞𝙠𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙨𝙪𝙣 𝙜𝙤𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙗𝙚𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙙 𝙖 𝙘𝙡𝙤𝙪𝙙. 𝙄 𝙝𝙖𝙙𝙣'𝙩 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙯𝙚𝙙 𝙝𝙤𝙬 𝙗𝙧𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙬𝙖𝙧𝙢 𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙝𝙖𝙙 𝙢𝙖𝙙𝙚 𝙢𝙮 𝙡𝙞𝙛𝙚 𝙪𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙡 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙡𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩 𝙝𝙖𝙙 𝙙𝙞𝙢𝙢𝙚𝙙.

Gage excepts a job at Sunday Orchard as their tech guy. Once he arrives, he finds out that he is rooming and sharing an office with the grumpy yet undeniably good looking Knox Sunday. Gage makes it his mission to annoy Knox to try and fight his attraction. Knox tries to deny his feelings for the young Gage until they go to a party and Knox's jealousy gets the better of him.

I loved how at the beginning Gage and Knox purposely tried to annoy each other while fighting their attraction to each other. Once they finally come together, they are combustible. There are parts that had me laughing out loud and there were some pretty emotional parts in the book that had me on the verge of tears.

I am loving every May Archer book that I have read so far and I can not wait for more of the Sunday Brothers and their odd family.

Audio ... Michael Dean did a good job of giving both characters and their story a voice.

4 Maple Leafs for this mm, workplace, age gap, grumpy/snarky romance which is told from the first person point of view.

Won’t Pick in Future

I had this book on my list for so long. I didn’t realize this was the same author as the Whispering Key series. I couldn’t get through the first book in that series. This book was less annoying/awkward/cheesy and more boring. DNF. This author is not for me. Also, while he’s a great actor, I personally am not a huge fan of the narrator.

Another Fun Read!

Although the story is formula, there are some real laughs and the love story is very sweet and entertaining.
I enjoyed very much & the narrator is, as always, AWESOME!

YESS!!! Pick him!

Okay. Gage and Knox. Hot. Lol. Sorry that had to be the start of this. I adore Gage. He is happy go lucky. Sweet and can be. Soooo funny and corky in the best way. Also blunt. He is someone I’d love to know in real life. Then Knox is the man I’d fall in love with. Slightly closed off. Sexy lumberjack—who does whatever he can for his family while not thinking of his own happiness. I loved this story and getting to know the Sunday Family. May archer is magic. She writes the best stories and continues to make them special, unique and un-put-downable. Amazing read. Amazing listen. 10 stars ⭐️

Yay for Sunshine & Grumpy Men!!!

Gage and Knox are very much Sunshine and Grumpy respectively. I really love Gage when he's antagonizing Knox. As it happens, Knox has a fabulous family that I look forward to seeing more of in future books.

Clearly, not for new May Archer readers

I wanted to enjoy this book with every ounce of me after reading the reviews. The story had so much potential. Now that I've completed this book, it's evident that the positive reviews were generated by people who are used to this style of writing. For me, the narrator has the voice, but was placed with the wrong characters. The character development started solid, but then there was a shift in Gage and Knox. It was almost like the author forgot which character had what personality when she would start a new chapter. The author and editor were clearly not in sync on the age difference. This 10.5 hours of a book that was thrown together to simple say, "Here's another installation for this year". Unfortunately, it's a solid NO on May Archer. Any bright and great editor would've and could've taken this book from 10.5 hrs to 5 or 6 hrs. There were so many missed moments and the humor just wasn't there. This was clearly written by someone who laughs at their own jokes and find no one else in the room funny.

My husband and I truly enjoy submerging ourselves into books and feeling as though we are having this immersive experience. You know, we like to feel as though we are on the farm and having breakfast at the table with Webb and Drew. You just couldn't get caught up in a moment, because of this obnoxiously annoying disruption of Gages personality being present. He was supposed to be the humor, we got it. In reference to character development, Gage was supposed to be this smart, hot 24/25 yr old intern with a smashing sense of humor. Perhaps the narrator failed Gage, but the mark was missed here altogether. Gage was placed a position to have his dreams come true and then he decides he'd rather be angry with Knox and the story continued for another 4 hrs.

Honestly, I feel like the author and editor had faith in one another and just said they didn't have to read this book over before publishing it. Knox was very truthful with Gage from the beginning and they both clearly forgot this information was shared within the first 7 chapters. Lastly, who uses the epilogue to introduce an entirely new cast of characters to connect Knox to Gage's family group text thread? Who ends a book with an indirect proposal from the main characters only for the least likely character (Webb) to actually propose in a bar? I could go on, but I can end here for an honest review of book.

Gage and Knox - swoony growly sparkly perfection

This book was so deliciously good. It is filled with all the emotions, the connections and the love. We are shown all these things through real, relatable people who have flaws, but are really trying to just do their best as the messy humans they are. Gage is recently independently wealthy but wants to use his knowledge and degrees to help people technologically. So he takes a position in Little Pippin Hollow, Vermont on a farm to build them an app to automate their processes. Knox is one of the Sunday brothers on the farm. He has recently come home after having panic attacks at his high stress job in Boston. Gage and Knox are opposites attract, age gap, enemies to lovers perfection and watching them stumble through to their HEA was painfully beautiful. This book was filled with all the things you’d expect, sweet moments, painful pasts, steamy scenes, supportive family and friends, small town goodness, character growth and missteps, and all the love. Get ready to feel all the things along with Gage and Knox. I’ll definitely be continuing this series. I cannot wait to see what’s next for the Sunday men.

Michael Dean, as always, did a phenomenal job narrating the story and characters into life with enough change of inflection, tone and cadence to voice multiple characters quite convincingly. I think I’d enjoy listening to this narrator read a phone book.

Super sweet!

I don’t usually leave written reviews but this book was so sweet I just had too. The banter between the two was hilarious and the slow burn was perfect. I found myself smiling and actually laughing loud multiple times; I can’t say that about many books. I’m looking forward to reading more from this author in the future!

For ages sake.

I liked the the locations and backgrounds of this story, Vermont is a beautiful state.
The family and characters were appealing All three.things helped make a slight story a bit more palatable.
I found the main character, Gage, more annoying than charming. His personality held little appeal for me, but becomes a little easier to take as the story progresses,
If you're looking for an easy read you should pick PICK ME,

Funny, emotional and a great story

There are points with real laugh out loud bits, tear jerker bits and overall a story that flows so well - I was almost there in little Hollow with them.

Michael Dean is an amazing narrator- brings the whole story to life.

Already downloaded book 2, I feel like I know the Sunday family now, and want to keep up with what is happening.

Couldn't finish

Was loving the story, but when you get to the main resolving conflict between the couple, there's no character growth just f**k the issue away. Spoiled the end of what could be a good book but just made my blood boil.

Amazing story but performance confusing

While the story was everything, it was difficult to tell the difference between the characters thoughts and what they were actually saying to each other

Sweet as a ripe apple!

New book, new series, new adorable, quirky little town, but the same, beloved May Archer’s mix of sweetness, banter and fun!
This time we’re in Vermont, in an apple orchard run by the Sunday family, and when Gage Goodman is hired to completely re-do their systems he’s sort of adopted in this apple-loving, slightly dysfunctional family. And the brother he’s working the closest with? Knox Sunday is a gorgeous lumberjack, 15 years older than Gage and the stuff of all his fantasies. He’s also grumpy, snarky and sometimes downright rude to Gage. But that’s all appearances. When he lets his walls down Knox turns out to be a closet-protector and a stealth-cuddler, the perfect man, really for a nervous-rumbling, overthinking sweetheart like Gage.
