Publisher's summary

Meet Brady Hawk.

Former Navy SEAL. Former Peace Corps worker. Current blacks ops assassin.

To those with the highest security clearance, it's a line item known only as Project X. But to the half-dozen agents and personnel working for it, it's known as Firestorm, a black ops group so dark that the US president doesn't even know about them yet. And no agent is as skilled as Brady Hawk.

This box set includes First Strike, Deep Cover, and Point of Impact.

Just average

If you're a fan of Mitch Rapp or Scot Harvath, this series won't excite you at all.

Also, some basic editing and proofreading would be worth your money. In one of the fight scenes, the weapon used changed from a gun to a knife in the middle of the scene.

The story line is good. Just written in a way that makes it feel like an episode of law and order- you know exactly where you'll be at the end of the hour.

I Like Hawk! I Don't Like Alex!

Narration is good! Storyline is good, lots of action, lots of twists. I like Hawk! Blunt is pretty much a given as a character in this type of plot! But I truly dislike Alex. She's ridiculously reckless rather than smart. Reminds me of the stupid female in the horror flick that you know ahead of time is going to walk down the dark, creaky stairs right into the hands of the killer. The fact that she has fighting skills "should" mean that she would utilize situational awareness, but she doesn't....she "should" scope out the areas around and inside of wherever she's going, but she doesn't. If she did those things and still encountered a problem, fine, she handles her business. Too many times she willfully sticks her head in the sand, like she thinks she has a sign on her forehead that says "don't mess with me." And she goes right back to the same place again, again without watching her own back! Enough said.

I care enough about Hawk's character to continue, at least for awhile. Outside of Alex, I enjoyed it!

Good not Great

Enjoyed the story line. The action was real but the time between the action is flat, no real back stories. The characters lives are dull.

Awesome audio book

I was lucky enough to have gotten a free audio book code from the author. I am volunteering to leave this review. Plenty of twist and turns that will keep you guessing.

Seems far too familiar

There was a lot that sounded like echoes from D.B. I'll decide if I want to continue the series. unfortunately I I've read all of D.B. books.

Triple Espionage

The books each have their own "assignments" but continue to build up to an exciting finish. Book 3 also ends, not with a cliff-hanger, but open possibilities for future episodes. Hawk does rely on some "luck" and happenstance that wound the credibility of parts of the story-line, but overall a good read/listen.

For an author I didn't know it was pretty good

I got the 1-3 box set so I was able to listen to 3 books of his. I liked the books and they kept me wanting more. I hate how the 3rd book ended but maybe there will be a 4th book. I am hoping! The performance was good. Everyone had their own voices which was good. Each book ended with a cliff hanger. It was good that I got the 3 together so I could just go on to the next book.

Light read/listen

If you’re used to Brad Thor, Vince Flynn & the like, this is NOT them nor their narrators.
I almost returned because of the initial narration: inconsistent voices, sounds bored, not a lot of speed or distinctive anything...
But if you have a bunch of things to do and can’t pay too much attention to the listen- it’s ok. While waiting for new releases from the others;)

Entertaining but not quite top shelf.

The story line was entertaining, language was pretty clean which is often a problem in this genre. No gratuitous, degrading, or overtly sexual content, which is a plus. The narration was relatively good, some awkward pauses and odd accents. The depth of the story came and went, quite a few logistical inconsistencies and overly simplistic at times. All in all though it was entertaining and I listened to the end.
