Publisher's summary

Internationally-bestselling author and multiple Bram Stoker Award finalist Michaelbrent Collings brings you one of the "100 Best Horror Books of All Time" (BookAuthority)...

All passengers, please prepare for departure...

An employee, a cop, and six passengers; a prisoner, a stowaway, and a madman.

"Fun novel, fast paced... Great story, recommended." - Hellnotes

These are the people waiting at the Lawton bus terminal.

"If you need a fast-paced thriller that chills and keeps you guessing, look no further..." - Horror Novel Reviews

Mostly late-night travelers who want nothing more than to get to their destinations, and employees who want nothing more than to get through the graveyard shift.

"[Collings] brings the reader close in and doesn't want them to leave... I'd give this an A." - Horror Drive-In

But when a strange, otherworldly fog rolls in, the night changes to nightmare. Because something hides in the fog. Something powerful. Something strange. Something... inhuman.

"A great read." - Sci-Fi and Scary

Soon, those in the terminal have been cut off from the rest of the world. No phones, no computers. Just ten strangers in the terminal... and The Other.

"A thrill-fest of a novel that I blazed through..." - Inkheist Book Reviews

The Other is the force in the mist. The Other is the thing that has captured them. And The Other wants to play a game.

"[A]n intense, creepy, and twisty read... the suspense will have you on the edge of your seat." - A Book Lover's Life

The rules are simple:

  1. The people in the terminal must choose a single person from among them. That person will live. The rest will die.
  2. Anyone who attempts to leave the terminal before the final vote will die.
  3. The final vote... must be unanimous.

5 stars! "[A] nightmarish tale that was both captivating and frightening and also a novel that I would highly recommend!" - The Genre Minx

A nightmare. And getting worse, because the best way to make a vote unanimous... is to kill the other voters.

Welcome to the Terminal.

"5 stars... another outstanding novel from author Michaelbrent Collings..." - Horror After Dark

One of the "Best Reads of 2019" (Horror After Dark); a "Top 10 Read of 2019" (Sci-fi & Scary)

decent concept but very drawn out.

the basic idea of the story is really good. however, the endless diatribe about each of the characters their past their hopes and dreams, I just wanted to put it down and move on to something else. I kept hoping something would happen to spark my interest, but by the time I was ready to give up on it I was too far along to actually stop listening. one interesting twist at the end, but not worth the pain to get there. three stars because the idea is a good one, I think I condensed rewrite would actually work.

intriguing spin

story was good and this could have been a stellar experience if the narrator was human. AI mispronounced words, oblivious to subtext and kept announcing a cut off sentence by saying, "Dash" . Audible should boycott this ai crap. good thing this was free.

Too Many Wrongs and No Rights

As the first part of this book slowly (and I do mean sloooowly) unfurls, I kept wondering how much of Stephen King's 'The Mist' this author was going to blatantly rip-off. With the rapidity of a sloth running through semi-set concrete, the author finally diverges into his own work, but by then I was so annoyed by the unlikeable characters and the incredibly irritating AI reader, that I just wanted this book to be over with. I wish I didn't have the illogical compulsion to finish every book, audio and written, that I start, because I would have shut this off and moved on to the next one in my queue. The ending of the tale tries to be clever, but in actuality it is a complete cop-out that never really answers any questions and gives no satisfaction. I pray to all the literary gods out there that Audible will eventually realize that using a computer to read books is a mistake. AI still isn't smart enough to correctly recognize heteronyms and chose the correct pronunciation for the context of the sentence. This particular 'bot loves to vocalize certain punctuation characters rather than ignoring them, yanking the listener out of the story repeatedly. Thank goodness I didn't waste a credit or actual money on this.
