Publisher's Summary

Now that Dimple Shah has graduated, she's ready for a break from her family - especially from Mamma's inexplicable obsession with her finding the Ideal Indian Husband. Ugh. But Dimple knows that her mother must respect that she isn't interested in doing that right now - otherwise she wouldn't have paid for her to attend a summer program for aspiring web developers, right?

Rishi Patel is a hopeless romantic, so when his parents tell him that his future wife will be attending the same summer program as him - during which he'll have to woo her - he's totally onboard. Because as silly as it sounds to most people in his life, Rishi believes in the power of tradition, stability, and being a part of something much bigger than himself. Although their parents hadn't planned suggesting the arrangement so soon, when their kids signed up for the same summer program, they figured why not?

    "A fun listen for summer"

Such a great story! Original, light and funny! The voicing is a bit slow, so I had to listen at speed 1.3! Recommend this to everyone:)

I download over 100 books a year. I don't even know how to go about my day without listening to a title. It's my happy place!

The fact that this book would have an HEA was never in dispute. It was just a matter of what the couple went through to get there. I loved how the"obstacles" were real and not just some miscommunication that pulled/kept them apart.

Dimple and Rishi get my vote as the cutest couple of the year. This is the first time in my history of reading fiction that I had hoped for an epilogue. Things were resolved quite satisfactorily but I would have loved a fast forward to what they were doing or their wedding or to how the parents felt about their matchmaking.

The narration Blew. Me. Away. The chapters were told in first person POV and I had to check often to confirm that this was a solo narration effort. It sounded like two people!!! Sneha Mathan just nailed it.

I loved this couple. I loved how they met. I loved how they made each other better. I got the feels.

I wanted more from this. It was predicted and left me wanting. Fast read though.

    "Worst book of 2017"

This book was one of the worst I've ever read. The only thing it had going for it was the Indian rep. The whole plot, of being at Insomnia-con, was lost. They barely discussed it, let alone ever discussed them working on their project for it. The author could have just put them in college or even in the same town, the con had little to no impact on the story. I hated both Dimple and Rishi, as they were mean and immature teenagers. Their language and ideas were especially juvenile for 18 year olds headed to Stanford and MIT in two months. The side characters of Dimple's roommate and Rishi's brother both had more interesting stories than the main characters. The humor made me actually cringe. The author doesn't realize that girls can react in situations in ways other than biting their lips, something that was said at least six times throughout the book. The ending was cliche which was expected and fine, but overall the book was awful. Mean characters, had no main plot, and really no redeeming aspects other than the cliche ending, which is nothing the author came up with on her own.

    "Great narration. Predictable Bollywood story"

The only reason I tried to finish this book is just to hear Sneha Mathan's beautiful narration. Wish the story was intellectually stimulating.

    "Great Story! Uneven Narration."
Is there anything you would change about this book?

Nothing about the story itself. It was so good. "When Dimple Met Rishi" is the perfect Bollywood meets YA romance. I love the author's descriptions and the internal dialogue of both the main characters.

What was one of the most memorable moments of When Dimple Met Rishi?

    Dimple and Rishi's non-date.

What didn’t you like about Sneha Mathan’s performance?

I'm not sure which on is Sneha, but the male narrator was SPOT ON he sounds like a 20-something Indian man, but the female narrator, wow... she sounds like a woman in her 50's so it was so hard to follow Dimple's story.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

    YES!

    Any additional comments?

No. I think I'm going to return it because of the narration being so bad. BUT it's definitely a story I would want to own in paperback.
