Lots of political intrigue, less magic, and action
I listened to all four books in the series, and I think it could all have been condensed into one very well told story. I enjoyed the characters, but some of their stories were repeated so many times I found it tedious. World building was reasonably good and the, deep dive into 1000 years of history was also interesting. Unfortunately, the narration was substandard. In the last final wizard battle, I don’t think the narrator even raised her voice to indicate that it was a stressful moment. It was reasonably good, but I’m glad it was free. Otherwise I think I would be returning it.

It's good over and over and over again
the series in general is captivating. even though I know how it ends, I always miss something that makes the journey exciting every time.
