Great book, voice casting needs some work

I read the books a while ago (love them) and decided to listen to the dramatized version for my second read through. I think Violet’s voice is so spot on, however some of the other characters sounded very strange to me. Mira sounds like some sort of weird AI generated middle-age Karen that I literally couldn’t stand listening to. Also when reading the books I imagined Xaden as a deep, somewhat intimidating but soft spoken voice. The Xaden voice actor sounds like the annoying guy at parties that can’t shut up fast enough.

This hurt so deliciously.

I need someone to give me a phone call, I have a million ideas and theories and need someone to listen to me rant, yap, and walk them through all my crazy brain stuff.

THIS is the effect of not having dual POV!! His POV just made me see him so differently and fall for him so so hard.

🎧Graphic Audio (my first ever) was so fun, atmospheric, and engaging.
It definitely helped the vibes (not that the book needed it) and honestly helped my overactive brain focus more on the moment 🎧
(still didn't stop me from spotting the details, ask a million question, and come back with even more theories than the first time)



Second read was eye-opening to Rebecca's masterful writing.
All those foreshadowing and hints and moments that break your heart throughout the text...
🏆Say what you want about her. She deserves an award for the book. 🏆

IF I HEAR ANYONE SAY ANYTHING BAD ABOUT VIOLET-XADEN ROMANCE in this book I WILL FIGHT
There are weeks and months not on page of them training together every day, getting closer, and building trust.
Not a SINGLE word. They love each other.

Admission: I am going to read this again, no question there.
Advice: Don't go looking for fan art or visuals before at least the middle of the book, you'll get some of plot ruined badly if you do.
Wish/es: Why can't we have glossaries with books that have so many new elements?
Also, I need Xaden POV!

Interesting style: The fact this feels as if it was intended to be written by a scribe telling us the story, and the small snippets from the different books ahead of each chapter was something I very much enjoyed. At first, I felt it was ruining the plot as some things were clear and predictable, but then it just made me question things.
Admittedly, the way Violet was reciting things spoke of her character, but I couldn't retain the information this way, especially with only Basgiath's map in the book. (Thankfully Iron Flame has maps and wings divisions so now they're clear).

I absolutely loved this. I loved Violet. I loved how she became stronger, how her sense of self and belonging developed, how she found her own identity and didn't waver from her values. I love how she is scribe and rider at the same time.
The question is, though, "I know exactly who and what you are Violet Sorrengail." Do we know what she is already?

I also loved Xaden but I didn't feel completely enthralled by him. I need his story. I need his POV, even if for a couple of pages that are confusing in between Violet POV. I need more from him. I need HIM, and not through Violet's POV.
I loved how he believed in her and pushed her to be her best from the beginning, even when he had it out for her. However, I feel there is more to this enemies background that we need to dissect from both POVs.

Favourite person in this entire world: Tairn, and yes he is a person, fight me.

I can't wait for book two release with this version. May can't come fast enough.

This was amazing!
let me make this clear I downloaded the original audio book at first, that didn't have a full cast. I tried to get into it, but the book had so much detail and so much going on the simply narration didn't do the book justice. So I actually returned that version.
weeks pass and I received an email about this version. I listened to the sample and I was hooked. I couldn't download this book fast enough! I finished part one in one day! and started the part two last night, just now finishing this.
This audio book had me so submersed! I actual felt like the main character! I adore this book! I had moments of laughter, crying, moments I was frantically cleaning while listening to suspense.
Every single voice actor choosen was PERFECT, they did an amazing job!
I wish that this version was available for book two!
Every audio book should be narrated this way, and honestly you can just tell the amount of hard work that went into the creation of this version. They could charge a lot more, and it would be worth it!

I didn't even know graphic audio was a thing. played the sample and I was immediately hooked. the sound effects really keep you engaged! much better.

Is the next one out yet? I need it now!

LOVING this story and the characters so much that I can't put it down. SO grateful for some great adventure to distract from real life. A little risqué in the lead relationship so careful whose ears hear.
