Story
I can’t escape the vulnerability of motherhood. The rage fueling me since my brother’s murder is no longer powerful enough to carry me forward. I want to create a simple life in the Spanish countryside and prepare for motherhood. For the sake of the life growing inside me, I must forge ahead without Robert’s help, Mulberry’s devotion, or my own anger determining my path. Justice with a vengeance. Imagine if you were offered a choice: give up your freedom or watch the people closest to you lose theirs. What would you do? When international fugitive Sydney Rye turns herself over to authorities in order to protect the vigilante network she inspired, her freedom depends on helping Homeland Security shift the tide in a war for "hearts and minds". Sydney Rye is tasked with the perfect assignment: recruit female fighters to take on jihadists. Story
For Meg Jennings and her K-9 companion, Hawk, exploring the ruins of a deserted building is an exciting way to sharpen their skills without the life-or-death stakes they face as part of the FBI's Human Scent Evidence Team. But deep in the echoing rooms of an abandoned asylum, Hawk finds the body of an elderly woman. The victim couldn't have made her way into the derelict building on her own. Before 48 hours pass, Meg learns of three more cases of elders found dead in neglected urban structures. There's not enough evidence to link the deaths - yet. But Meg scents a pattern.

Publisher's Summary
Continue this searing adventure as Sydney Rye and her dog, Blue, battle for justice around the globe in books 4-6.
Strings of Glass (A Sydney Rye Mystery, Book 4)
Trouble finds Rye when she stops the attempted rape and murder of Anita, a reporter working on a story of corruption and child trafficking. The atrocities Anita describes send Sydney and Blue on a quest that takes them across India after a dangerous and, up until now, untouchable, figure.
The Devil's Breath (A Sydney Rye Mystery, Book 5)
One of Sydney Rye's dearest friends, Hugh Defry, has been accused of brutal murder. All the evidence points to Hugh and he has no memory of that night. But Sydney refuses to believe that Hugh is capable of such violence. Sydney flies to Miami searching for the real killer, unprepared for the realization that her personal fight for justice has become much more than she'd ever imagined. Sydney is pushed towards making a decision that will change not just her life, but possibly the future of crime fighting.
Inviting Fire (A Sydney Rye Mystery, Book 6)
Recovering from a near-fatal attack that has left her with residual trauma, including haunting dreams and flashbacks, Sydney Rye is regaining her strength at the jungle training camp of Joyful Justice, the vigilante network inspired by her now legendary acts of vengeance.
However, when she runs up against an old adversary he destroys the peace she has found and puts her and Blue's lives in danger.
Recommended for adults who love brave female protagonists, dogs, and action-packed series that you can't stop listening to until you've listened to them all. If you have trouble with the f-bomb, violence or sex (not graphic but out of wedlock)...then you should not start this series...it's just not your thing.

very good reads
You have so much action and adventure. Believable and interesting characters and the storyline carries the theme. You have death., bloodshed and talk of sex, but it is needed ti carry the story. This is an amazing book and although different than what I have been reading it is worth reading. i actually enjoyed the fast paced storyline and recommend this series
