Publisher's summary

Rain left her old life to find a fresh start. But a wolf shifter mate wasn't exactly what she was expecting....

A new name, a new job, a new life - far from the dangers of her old one.

Then Laurent walked into her restaurant and changed everything.

The second-in-command for the Cherchez Wolf Pack, Laurent didn't expect to find his destiny in a roadside café. But there's no doubt in his mind that waitress-by-day, artist-by-night Rain is his mate. And the urge to be near her, to protect her, to have her is intoxicating.

An unbelievably hot night leaves them both wanting more. But more with Laurent comes with an introduction to his extended family - of werewolves. Learning that supernatural beings are real is a shock, but becoming one turns out to be the best decision she's made in her new life.

No matter how good things are with Laurent and the pack, Rain can't run from her old life forever. When a threat on the horizon tests the life they're building together, Rain will have to prove that her place is with the Cherchez wolves - no matter who says otherwise.

I liked it- Not my favorite, but still good

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I can't reveal the cause as to not expose a spoiler, but the tragedy that Laurent and Rain get through was the most memorable. How she was kidnapped in the first place was amazing in itself given that she was to be watched, but what she endured from that point on was sad.

Any additional comments?

I liked the book..while you may have thought you knew where the book was going, you get a big twist right in the middle that makes you go "WTF".

Rain is running from her past. She is a talented artist who is happy to be on her own for the first time ever. Laurent is Beta in his pack and recognizes his mate as soon as she waits on them at the restaurant she works. The book starts out relatively normal..Laurent keeps holdin gback information that he knows he should reveal. This creates friction where it could have been avoided. Once we get past all of the communication issues, wolf issues and revelations, we're on easy street- until her past comes back to haunt her.

The completion of her past issues is resolved so quickly, I didn't see it coming and then it made you wonder what the heck the rest of the book was going to be about. While Laurent and Rain have a sexual chemistry that surpasses their Alpha pair, the entire book was truly about them and the sexual chemistry they have. As a couple, once the get past the tragedy that unfolds, they come out stronger on the other end.

Waiting patiently for the next installment.

and the story continues.....

This new wolf shifter series is great. It has it all from hot sex, girl fights, humor, suspends and much more!!! All female have sass and swagger love it, which in turn drives the Alpha males crazy. There are several books out I suggest start at the begging so you can keep up with all the couples dramas.. The narrator did an excellent job. So worth the credit

Can't wait for the next Book

I really like this series!!! Great characters and I like how they are all individualized. You really get to know each one. It's hard to find really good shapeshifter series so I'm so glad I came across this one. I highly recommend this series and can't wait for book #3!!!

Two weeks no way, really need to show more greif.

Did not express the loss of a child as it should have been no way enough. It was not even enough. This pack family is so loving but it was written way to like it would all be ok and not giving the child enough honor for his loss
Any women would have been a wreck and the comment of "oh that would be lovely" on the day the baby was lost would never have been said by a women who just lost her child. Also no way that in two weeks and she is fine. No freaking way.

Good but redundant

I did enjoy this book on audible. Summer's voice overs were pretty awkward sometimes but I liked her flow.

In terms of the story I liked the whole idea of it but the sex over and over again makes it kinda old, and got lame at around the 7th time.

All in all a good story line
