Publisher's Summary

When living in a world where the prince isn't always charming, the princess has a mean right hook, and angels are worshiped like gods, love isn't always easy to find.

Zoe has never been the lady-like princess she's read about in fairytales, even with her very own handsome prince to sweep her off her feet. She doesn't know what she dislikes more, his arrogant smirk or the way his grey eyes darken when they fight. Angels help him if he thinks he could tame her.

Asher won't admit it, but he admires the fighting style of his warrior princess. She reminds him of an avenging angel the way her fiery hair whips around her as she takes out her challengers. Dark One help him, but she is as tough an opponent on the battlefield as she is off.

With unknown and unwanted feelings starting to emerge between the two royals, a single goodbye turns into a frantic search for a missing princess. Asher has to find the one woman he never thought he'd miss and keep his kingdom safe from an old enemy. If he fails, the angels may not forgive him this time.

Fun new series that will suck you in...

Song of Blood and Fire, Book 1 of the Celestial Ear Chronicles by Erin Bedford was an fun, entertaining listen that I finished in a little over a day of driving around. Erin Bedford always does a great job of creating fully-realized, fantastical worlds that are typically not too far off from our own, but with a twist. This book is no exception. Zoe and Asher have been set to be married for a long time, as it's a good political move and will help unite and strengthen their two kingdoms. First problem is Zoe and Asher can't stand one another. This particular time when Zoe goes to visit Asher's kingdom, things are a little different. There's a spark now, and I'm not just talking about the ones that ignite in Zoe's hands when Asher ticks her off...This book is full of romance, deception, murder, etc. all with a hint of supernatural powers thrown in. I have to say that I honestly can't wait to listen to the next book in the series to see what happens where this book left off! This book is a standalone, but you WILL want to continue the series. So you've been warned!

Jack Barclay did a great job narrating this novel and brought life and emotion to the characters. It was really easy to just fall into the book and the recording quality was great as well. I'll definitely listen to more of his performances in the future. I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher for an honest review.

Outstanding New Fantasy Series!

I was really worried for probably several chapters in! Honestly, the Prince was making me really mad with his horrible manners and behavior. Nobody wants a prince that is engaged to you but sleeping around when you come to see him. I wanted to smack him so bad at first! I truly despised him for awhile but don’t stop reading keep going because there is light at the end of the tunnel!

Narration was well done and brought the story to life.

This is a well written story. The characters are well developed and interesting. You will find suspense, danger, betrayal, loss, romance, friendship and adventure. It is a great fantasy story once the prince stops acting like an idiotic moron!

I really like the heroine. She is a princess warrior that can defend herself pretty well!Things wrapped up nicely towards the end of the book with no major cliffhangers. I’m looking forward to book 2!

Amazing listen!

Fantastic story and a highly immersive world. Great cast of characters, plenty of humor, and romance. Loved Zoe and Asher. Excellent narrator, he did an amazing job of bringing the story to life with changes in tone and emotion. I will definitely be listening to the other books in this series! Great Sparky Romance

I love the spark and flare between Asher and Zoe. The drama between the two makes me smile every time I think of them. While there isn't a lot of action there is a lot of I have to find out what these two are going to do next. I loved Jack's voice. He embodied the voices of these two sparky royals perfectly.

Arranged Marriage, Power Plays and Murder

Asher and Zoe were to have an arranged marriage ...plannned over many years to strengthen an alliance. Neither liked the other as children and it didn’t improve. The last summer befor they were to marry she spent 3 months at his home and he was a ‘pig’ with other women...travel maids in multiples and maids..obvious and su Zoe knew of and saw his behavior. This is the main reason I had a hard time giving more stars as I couldn’t stand Asher through the entire book! He never improved and I have no idea why she fell and forgave him. I didn’t care for his sense of humor or his behavior through the entire story.
I have a hard time enjoying a book when I can’t find a reason to like a main character who suppose to be a ‘hero’.
Zoe, a strongh warrior woman, let him get away with too much and forgave which I didn’t think was right for her character.
The narrator was fine...sometime over the top.

I would have left his ass...

Zoe and Asher have been betrothed since they were young. Every summer Zoe, a warrior princess, must trek to Asher's kingdom to spend a few months with him and his mother. Both Zoe and Asher would rather be any where else other than in each others company.

Asher is a self possessed womanizer, who thinks nothing of flaunting his affairs in front of Zoe.
Zoe, is a strong fighter and tom boy. She would rather be in the training field than cozying up to her betrothed.
The beginning of the book is a bit slow and there were many instances where I wanted to stop listening. Asher's true colors are exposed and all I could think is Zoe needs to leave his ass. Their kingdoms could still have an alliance without each of them sacrificing their futures.
Many of the more romantic and sex scenes seem forced, as in Asher literally attempts to force Zoe to do his bidding. This in itself is against her character and her acceptance of him is not believable.

Through it all, I did enjoy the book for what it is, an entertaining fantasy novel. I am intrigued by Asher's cousin, Ollie, and the next installment of the series which focuses on her.

Reader beware

Any self respecting woman would’ve castrated Asher. I’m not into slut shaming but he was a man whore. The plot had promise but it circled back to the non romantic story line. When her maid shamed her into accepting his treatment I said that’s enough. I’m trying to make it thru but don’t know how much more I can take. I thought this was a fantasy not smut.

Definitely falls into the romance category

I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

This was a well written but overly romance driven story. I would have liked more action to offset the romance, but it wasn't so much that I couldn't get through the story. The narration was good and kept the story engaging enough to finish the book. If you like romance, you should definitely pick this one up.
