Publisher's summary

A relaxing day of rock climbing takes a disturbing turn when Kayden McKenna's route leads her face to face with a dead climber. Is it a terrible accident or something sinister? When the case is handed to the overburdened sheriff, he turns to Jake Westin. With Jake's past now revealed, he's ready to use his talent for investigation again - but he could never prepare for where the case will take him. Kayden and Jake soon realize that the death was no accident. And worse, it seems the killer is on to them. When strange things begin happening in Yancey, Jake is terrified that once again his world may put someone he loves in danger. But the truth is far worse than he could ever imagine.

JAKE = SWOON

Jake is amazing and perfect. just like all the other books in this series it starts with a bang. this story had a little less suspense than the other ones but was still 5 stars. I didn't think I would anticipate Rafes story but I am; although probably because of Kirra

A great read

I have followed the swedes and see so much happening. Filled with suspense, coming to terms with fears and betrayal. Finding love and renewed faith to carry through.

Loved it!!

This is the second book I’ve listened to by Dani Pettrey. I have thoroughly enjoyed both of them! I love the mystery and romance…and it’s clean! And that it’s coming from a Christian perspective is the cherry on top! I look forward to listening to another one!

Maybe best for teens?

I wanted to like these books, I really did. I read all 5 because I’m NOT a quitter, but it was a bit painful at times. I’ve been reading the likes of Lynette Eason & Dee Henderson for years, so perhaps that’s what I was expecting?

I’m not old, only in my 30’s, but I honestly felt like I was listening to teenagers. I have one so they’re somewhat relatable, but that doesn’t mean that I want to listen to teen romances. Not my thing.

I haven’t “read” the books, only listened, which makes me wonder if it’s the narrator making them sound more juvenile or the fact that the content is just too immature to be considered “adult.”
I do appreciate the fact that it’s clean, so there’s that. 🤷🏼‍♀️👍🏻

Douglas Sabattis

This family is fun to read or as the case listen to. Of all the characters you've brought to life Piper her curiosity smarts and kindness compassion. All the characters are special in their own ways. Piper is my favorite. Only one thing as many stories I've listened to only one has the criminal was saved. I know that most of them are unhinged. Really would be nice to get the bad guy to realize they can be saved. After all isn't our main job Jesus gave us. I know that not easy but haven't some the worst serial killer's changed and were saved. Also even though I know it isn't likely but stopping the trafficking ring would mice
After all its fiction right. Pray for all the people in the world suffering from trafficking it breaks my heart. So much what's going on with this world breaks my heart.

Evil on the Loose

Good and fast moving from the first . God is always in charge. He does not promise his people freedom from pain and trouble, but he does promise He will be with His People.

cheesey

rather cheesy and too many sexual innuendos
all of the books in the series are too much alike and unrealistic.

Love the Alaskan theme, but

The books seem to follow a similar romantic pattern. we can all ready tell who the next couple will be in book 5.
