Publisher's Summary

All you really need to do is accept the moment fully. You are then at ease in the here and now and at ease with yourself.

Throughout the spiritual classic The Power of Now are specific practices and clear keys that show us how to discover for ourselves the 'grace, ease, and lightness' that comes when we simply quiet our thoughts and see the world before us in the present moment.

Practicing the Power of Now is a carefully arranged series of excerpts from the The Power of Now that directly gives us those exercises and keys. Return to those words, reflect on the words, reflect even on the space between the words and - maybe over time, maybe immediately - you'll discover something of life-changing significance.

Pure Appreciation

I don't think I could adequately express the beauty of this book. I have read books by Abraham Maslow that described self actualizing people, and I feel that this book gave me a clearer understanding of those type of people. Many books tell you what to be, this book explains how to be, and that it why it's priceless.

This book along with Maslow's "Toward a psychology of being" are books that should be sold together. They are great alone, but powerful together.

I enjoy listening to these books on Audio.

I enjoy listening to these books on Audio.

This was a recommended book from my professor at my college. I have it both in print and in audio version. This one is less than three hours. The other one is about eight hours. I will listen over the weekend to this book on the longer formatted one.

It is a great book for my Humanity Class. I am glad it was recommended to read. I learned so much from this author. These books are life-changing if you follow the advice.

This audio book is a disgrace.

Everything in this book is directly lifted from the original Power of now. The sound quality is so poor, with obvious silent gaps, presumably because the audio has just been copied and pasted from the original. DO NOT BUY

90% of this book has no original content.

If this book wasn’t for you, who do you think might enjoy it more?

I am very fond of Eckhart Tolle's work and so I writes this with caution and gratitude for his works being out in the world. However, this book has almost no original content, it is simply exerts from The Power of Now which in itself is an extraordinary work. Therefore, it should not be presented as a different book, but instead a condensed version of The Power of Now. Eckhart Tolle has become big business and whilst there must be a vehicle to get his work into the world and I know that it must come with some form of financial cost, it seems to be the primary aim The commercial aspect and price of his books, online subscriptions, talks and retreats, suggests that the primary purpose of his works are that of financial gain and that makes me a little sad.

Has Practicing the Power of Now put you off other books in this genre?

No

Would you be willing to try another one of Eckhart Tolle’s performances?

No

You didn’t love this book--but did it have any redeeming qualities?

Yes, it still contains transformative power, but it's the marketing and financial aspect that leaves a sour taste in the mouth.
