Publisher's Summary

All you really need to do is accept the moment fully. You are then at ease in the here and now and at ease with yourself.

Throughout the spiritual classic The Power of Now are specific practices and clear keys that show us how to discover for ourselves the 'grace, ease, and lightness' that comes when we simply quiet our thoughts and see the world before us in the present moment.

Practicing the Power of Now is a carefully arranged series of excerpts from the The Power of Now that directly gives us those exercises and keys. Return to those words, reflect on the words, reflect even on the space between the words and - maybe over time, maybe immediately - you'll discover something of life-changing significance.

good but a bit of a repetition

I love Eckhart Tolle's books, but having read the Power of now and A New Earth I found some of this things wore pure repetition of earlier books, but still his words and the way he says them bring me a big sense of calmness and peace

Cogent book goes right to the essence of our task

What made the experience of listening to Practicing the Power of Now the most enjoyable?

Tolle's insights are crisply articulated in this book. It is full of valuable practices to suit many different situations, moods, etc.

What did you like best about this story?

Tolle is the clearest and most accessible person speaking about - and perhaps ever to speak about - the importance of presence, for individuals but also the world.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I wept a few times, as I was completely taken by the profundity of what he is sharing.

......why???

I liked very much the Power of Now. This one is really a needless repetition. Eckhart, why would you want to double charge us? My advice: Skip this one, stick with the original.

THE MISSING LINK!!

What a true blessing this book is - together with the complete Power Of Now text.

After 68 years on this earth, I have finally found “THE MISSING OWNERS MANUAL FOR THE HUMAN MIND.” This powerful text provides invaluable insights into the mind, emotional IQ, and the meaning behind the teachings of the worlds greatest ancient religions - especially Jesus.

This book and the Bible provide the keys to everything one needs to live their life with joy, inner peace, happiness, and “the Peace of God.”

It’s so worth the work involved to internalize this material and make it your own. As Eckhart states - “Have you had enough pain.?”

Mentions "Christ" too often

I would appreciate it if books were more straightforward about being about religion. Other than that, this book is solid.

Great concept and content, only wish it was narrated by someone else. Listening to the audiobook wasn't pleasant for me, but definitely worth it. Great book!

Deepening the understanding

I have long returned to the original book, The Power of Now, as a reminder that there is only this moment, and that we need to be aware when our mind takes us off to the future or the past. The mind is a useful tool if we use it, rather than let it use us. In this book, Practising the Power of Now, Tolle explores and expands upon the themes from The Power of Now, and also A New Earth, which gives a greater depth of understanding to concepts like the pain body, the egoic mind and awareness. He also gives more practical examples of how his teachings apply in every day life,eg in relationships. His voice is soothing and hypnotic, and every word feels true and makes perfect sense. It is true what they say - when the student is ready, the teacher appears, and Tolle is a true teacher for our age.

Well structured.

The methods one can use to zero in on the very moment are powerful. The hindrances that stop us are insightful.

A very mixed bag

Some useful insights wrapped in some vague and woolly mumbo-jumbo. A contemporary-leaning book on the benefits of Buddhism or Mindfulness would have suited me better, I think.
