Publisher's Summary

In 1938, just after publication of his all-time best-seller Think and Grow Rich, Napoleon Hill revealed that he had broken the Devil’s Code, forcing him to confess his secrets. The resulting manuscript - Outwitting the Devil - proved so controversial, it was hidden for more than 70 years. Now, Sharon Lechter brings us this important book, annotating and editing it for a contemporary audience. Using his legendary ability to get to the root of human potential, Hill digs deep to identify the greatest obstacles we face in reaching our personal goals - including fear, procrastination, anger, and jealousy - as tools orchestrated by the Devil himself. These hidden methods of control can lead us to ruin, and Hill reveals the seven principles of good that will allow us to finally triumph over them and succeed.

Fascinating, provocative, and empowering, Outwitting the Devil shows how to create your own path to success, harmony, and fulfillment in an age of uncertainty and fear.

What the Critics Say

"My simple faith is this: If we are created in God’s image, then we were born to create, and to create is to prosper. [This] previously unpublished Napoleon Hill manuscript.... I’ve read it and recommend it." (Rich Karlgaard, Publisher of Forbes magazine)

    "The Book on Life Mastery"

Amazing book describing in simple words how/what/why life operates as it does and how to be at cause over the seemingly appearing randomness of life. Points out the factors of the universe for you to see you're at cause all the time and reveals a formula that personal life experiences have shown to be very valid.

"Great view point and very motivational"

I like the ideas and way this book was thought out and written. I wish I could turn off the annotations though. Not that Sharon didn't have some good incite, but it is like watching a movie with a director's commentary on. I wouldn't pay to watch a movie at the theater to listen to someone talk about it in between scenes. It's hard to get the full affect of the story when someone keeps interrupting.

    "Absolutely Amazing!!"

The principles expounded by Hill are timeless! Parents should teach them to their children, teachers/professors to their students, religious leaders to their parishioners, and employers to their employees. What a truly awesome world we would have if all could learn to employ them.

"Napoleons work stands the test of time!"

As an avid fan of Napoleon Hills work I thought this was one of his best and very helpful!! I will most definitely listen to this numerous times in the future. However, I felt Sharon Lechters additions very unnecessary and at times a little annoying. I know she probably meant well however to me she ruins the work by stopping the flow of the interview to repeat & highlight certain points she finds important and even at times take the shine by talking about a point before napoleon or the devil have brought it up. I felt napoleons work is sound by itself and would have been received better as that. At times I found myself truly inspired by the story and right when it would get good, here comes Sharon to interject and totally mess up the flow to me. At one point in the book the Devil talks about how parents and teachers don't let children learn on there own & stifle there growth. Unfortunately I feel that's exactly what Sharon is doing, she's not letting us as students take the magic of this reading and learn for ourselves. I understand her excitement about the reading we all love what napoleon does however I just wish she would of saved her thoughts for the end of the reading afterward. To hear this reading in its true form would be a true blessing to me. It's still a great book and think all should listen to it and thank Sharon and all that worked to bring it to life. Love, Peace, & Blessings

"I wish you didn't repeat what Napoleon Hill said"

she kept repeating what Napoleon Hill said over and over again it was extremely annoying. The book would been fantastic had she not been in it.
