Full of very helpful methods that work, great book

I found this audiobook to be very helpful in combatting my procrastination. If I was to describe it in one word, it would be practical. It's literally full of different methods to try. The author recognises that everyone is different and the root causes of their procrastination are different. He focuses on providing a wide range of solutions so you can find what works for you. I would recommend the Pomodoro and 1-3-5 methods in particular. They made a huge difference to my life in a very short space of time. I couldn't believe what I could get done in a day when I was organised and actually applied myself. The author's methods also had a way of not seeming daunting and insurmountable, which was a huge problem I found with other books, methods etc.

The author does give some background info on the causes of procrastination and they are a great help in understanding why the different methods work and for whom they might be suitable. However, it is very focused on doing, which is exactly what procrastinators need. It doesn't expect miracles overnight and emphasises the importance of consistency to achieve your goals.

The chapters are well laid out and flow into each other nicely. The narration was clear and easy to follow. I found the information was organised into nice sized blocks, just the perfect amount to listen to on my commute to work each morning. I would highly recommend this book, definitely for those who have developed procrastinating habits from depression like me. The lift you get from actually getting things done is amazing!

Practical guide for everyone

There have been many books written about procrastination, and they all seem to pass across the same message. This is one that I’ve learnt tips that make a positive difference in the way I manage my time. The author is right to indicate that a lot of procrastination comes from the lack of the willpower to do things that we are otherwise not compelled to do otherwise.

Building willpower is one of the things that I learned from this book that I believe everyone can benefit from. It’s not just knowing all the tips and tricks to do more. It is having the will to do stuff when nobody is looking or egging you on. This majorly applies to people that work from home like me. We always have deadlines that we have to do with and sometimes even seeing a lot of the timers count down to zero, it does little to motivate you to work on your overdue tasks

Once the willpower is in place, productivity increases and more work gets done. The author also gives the readers twenty tips that I think are even too much to do. If you can commit to at least 10 of them, you will see a definite change in your work ethic. The flow of the book is awesome. The chapters flow well into each other and it makes an easy read from start to finish. The narration is nice, even-toned and an easy listen.

If I had to recommend, I’d say the Pomodoro method and goal-setting tips worked the best for me. The good thing about this book is that there is something for everyone. No matter your lifestyle, you’d find something that works for you and is adaptable to different industries. If you find it difficult doing your work on time, I recommend this book to you

An excellent guide!

An excellent guide to beating procrastination. It really helped my general productivity and helped me with my thoughts on it all, how to overcome the tendencies to delay or avoid bad or difficult tasks (and mundane ones!). Found this one very interesting, I kept rewinding parts, as a LOT of info is contained in this one.

A wonderful reminder

Although there was nothing extremely new or earth shaking in this book, it was a wonderful reminder, and a fresh approach to combining techniques to overcoming procrastination. The material is delivered in a light manner, with a lot of humour. I found this approach to help get the message across in a memorable fashion. Despite the humour, the seriousness of the topic was not lost. Tiana Hanson delivers the material it a pleasant manner. I felt that she was having a conversation with the listener, rather than just reading something to us. I recommend this book if you are looking for practical techniques to becoming more productive.

Pragmatic approach to procrastination.

The audio-book explains pragmatic approaches to erase procrastination in our lives. I like the practical nature of the author as it can be applied by everyone to enhance their lives. The author combines the story with great quotes from famous people making it easier for him to drive important points home. The book is highly informative and the flow of the story is simple to follow and understand. I also enjoyed the narration as the narrator had just the right tone to tell the story. She is a great story teller. I would recommend this book to anyone who wishes to enhance their lives by being more productive and doing away with procrastination. The good thing about procrastination is that everybody can suffer from it and everybody can completely erase it from their lives.
This is a great audio-book narrated by a great narrator.

Unlike Any Self Help Book I've ever Listened to!

How to Stop Procrastination and Get More Done is a self help ebook like you’ve never experienced before. You’ll usually find that self help books follow a stuffy and linear narrative however Coulter has injected his invaluable advice with sardonic wit to make the audio book enjoyable as well as educational. He tears apart the modern misconceptions around procrastination and our current disregard for its dangerous repercussions that hinder our daily lives in ways that we’ve never really contemplated. He illustrates how millennial's have created a joke around this apathetic mentality, however in reality, we’re wasting our lives and increasing our anxiety and stress levels.
The narrator follows a great pace which is easy to understand and gives you a complete understanding on the psychological reasons why we procrastinate due to our subconscious thought patterns, fears and anxieties. The book will equip you to deal with procrastination in respect to your home life, relationships and professional lives and makes you consider how your environment reflects in our mind sets.
Throughout the book Coulter offers thoughtful and practical advice which is proven to enhance your productivity so you can reach your full potential and override harmful thought patterns such subconscious fear of failure, fear of success and fear of not being good enough.

lightweight and completly unhelpful

This seems like is a collection of trivial blog articles. Not one useful bit of advice in this book. Couldn't finish this book of cliches, and the flippant jokey style is so irritating. I couldn't listen to this patronising rubbish - waste of money!

Repetitive and uninspiring

The tools in this audiobook are at best geared to the person who doesn't want to do the washing up and needs a little motivation. I was expecting some advanced sociological tools that would help a busy mind. I just found an overzealous, over enthusiastic, 'boot up the ass' colloquially annoying narrative.

Helpful, informative and very very useful.

I am very grateful for this book because I have tried a lot of books in this genre and this is the first one I actually liked. Mostly because it contained REALISTIC advice, all very neatly laid out and easy to follow.

My focus, self-discipline and productivity have increased and my stress decreased lately, which I put down to this book. Loved it.
