Not what I expected it to be

The title made me think that it was going to be a how-to guide. It was actually a fictional account of the Gospel being used to lead a suicidal man from suicide. It was a good book with a great message, the only thing I don’t like is that the title made me think it was something different from what it was.

I will be listening to this over and over again, everytime depression, and suicidal thoughts come to still my joy (and inner peace).

its to focused on god and the bible. what if someone doesn't have any religious beliefs. then nothing is stopping them.

Great book! It changed my life!

I was depressed and feeling like why live? And even though I do not understand why, I have hope. I take medication and go to therapy twice a week, but this book really helped by pointing me to God and His love and my worth in God's eyes.

Amazing Book

The Lord definitely used this book for me because I have been thinking those exact things John was thinking. I have been struggling with suicidal thoughts and have been living with shame and feeling like a burden and even a lost cause alongside feeling like I can’t be saved and that I am hopeless. However, now knowing the truth to how God sees me and that He died for my sins once for all and He won’t stop loving me nor forgiving me alongside being with me is a testimony of His steadfast love. I also love knowing that God uses everything in my life the good the sinful for my good (See Romans 8:28 NKJV + Romans 5:8 NKJV.) Essentially, in the midst of my affliction God loves me and I should trust in him not my own feelings just knowing to lean not on my own understanding but to trust in the triune God of the scriptures is vital alongside repenting of my sin and placing my faith in Jesus Christ alone.

i highly recommend this to all people of faith. Understanding how God views your sin is paramount in his ultimate plan for your life.

Quite disappointing: an unrealistic suicide scenario that is resolved through a facile discussion of God and the Bible.

Just peddling Yawehism

This guy is just trying to justify his religious views. “God” is a word, not a name of a god. “The creator” is not the same as the deity called Yahweh that was invented only a few thousand years ago. If the author hasn’t figured this out yet, he has still has a lot to learn. Nothing insightful in this book.
