excellent introduction - very clear

Nicely produced and cogently presented rudiments of data science in a presentation ideal for the non-technical novice who needs to understand this most essential emerging aspect of the enterprise.

Remarkably clear introduction to a complex subject

Where does A Simple Introduction to Data Science rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Among the best in both content and production.

What was one of the most memorable moments of A Simple Introduction to Data Science?

Not a narrative story so really does not have "moments." Good information overall.

What about Owen Daly’s performance did you like?

Resonant, easy-to-listen-to voice with excellent delivery.

Any additional comments?

A damn good "first" book regarding an important area for professionals to be aware of, and exploit.

Excellent "gateway drug" for the layman

I found this book to be a profoundly enlightening and clear explanation re: the rudiments of data science - its techniques, benefits and potential pitfalls. Highly recommended.

Buzz-word soup

Is there anything you would change about this book?

This book reads like a business buzz-word circle jerk at a networking event. "Data Science is the aggregating of a data analytics pipeline for synergistic enterprise solutions around agile teamwork cohorts." It reads like a pitch. I don't know what I was supposed to learn from this book, but I didn't learn anything. Wikipedia righted me.

Good narrator though.

Light on detail

I would have enjoyed more detail on the available tools and examples of the use of Data Science.

Very high level overview

Not enough detail. If you are looking for a high level overview, this book is good, otherwise it's a waste of an hour.

Not a lot of content here

In one section he simply read from the Hadoop website, while in data cleaning section he gave no more information than the Wikipedia article on the same subject. If you are just looking for buzzards and concepts for your next interview this book will do the job.

a very superficial introduction to data science.

if you don't know why data science is important, this audiobook will give you very good examples. however if you are familiar with the field, it does not help much.

Waste of time

I usually try to give positive reviews, otherwise I say nothing. But this, like some others, deserves comment. Superficial trivial put together in a hurry complete and utter drivel. Don't waste your tim
