Highly enjoyable

Really enjoyable book and series. The twists and turns, though in places predictable, are fast paced and give the reader new philosophical and scientific avenues to explore and question within themselves. The love story lines are certainly not May's strongest areas of writing and characters are often squarely fixed into their stereotypes, but he provides a great piece of escapism for all to enjoy.

Another excellent story

I have read a handful of Peter May’s novels and they don’t disappoint. As soon as I finished this one I was aching to read the next in the China series.
Peter Forbes is an excellent narrator

Not as good as his later books

I did enjoy this book, especially the narration. Peter Forbes really is a master of audiobooks. Peter May’s Scottish stories are just much better books. I’m glad to have all of the China Thrillers finally being read by Peter Forbes though.

Great start, poor ending

Starts great, gripping story fades into a swift and simple ending. The other books are better in this series, have all of them. Narrator is brilliant as ever.
