    "Mysteries in fantasy land."
Where does Descent Into the Depths of the Earth rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Liked the book immensely. This ranks in my top 25th percentile. Too many things crammed together to tightly at the end made it difficult for a "light read". It was as though the author or editing staff rushed to get an ending. Still, the setup was strong and engaging, hooking the listener with strong character development and interaction. The stories mystery was wonderfully crafted and presented.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Descent Into the Depths of the Earth?

Nothing stands out strongly to me.

What about Bernard Setaro Clark’s performance did you like?

Mr. Clark has a wonderful storytellers voice. One could easily imagine him in an old time pub telling tales that captivated listeners. Characterizations were eloquent and superb.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

At the end I was impressed with the fairy lords love for his daughter.

    Any additional comments?

A great listen to say say the least.

    "It's no book 1"
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

I really enjoyed book 1 but this one felt "phoned in" the performance was fine but once the sentient things start arguing with each other the voices became very over the top and I started to cringe when certain things would talk. The story was shoe horned into an old D&D module I enjoyed as a kid, but it really feels forced. I haven't decided if I'll give book 3 a chance yet as this was just too silly at times.

    "Nostalgic"

I loved this book years ago, and this was a nice edition.
I would have made Enid's voice a bit more girly and Cinders' a bit more silly. Otherwise, very nice job by the narrator.

"I still love the second book!"

The Justicar series is still my favorite out of everything I've read so far. I love the humor, fantasy, action and wonderful character development. Each main character is quite unique and has their own personality, logic, and tone. LOVE!

For readers: the language isn't too bad, sexual topics are mentioned but aren't heavily discussed, but the battles can have some detailed gore.

"Let me work on the Screen Play"
Where does Descent Into the Depths of the Earth rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

The overall quality of this and the previous book While Plume Mountain was awesome. Writing was solid, narration was fantastic

What does Bernard Setaro Clark bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The different infliction of voices really brought out the different characters. They were so vivid in my mind I want to write the screenplay.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laughed so hard in places I got strange looks.

    "Hoopie!"
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Of the three books featuring these characters, this one was my favorite. The relationships between the heroes start to really develop, and the story was a nice mix of history, character development, and adventure. I like all three of the books featuring these characters, though, and you cannot go wrong with any of them. Be sure to read them in order, though.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Descent Into the Depths of the Earth?

The climactic rescue scene in Lolth's temple!

Which character – as performed by Bernard Setaro Clark – was your favorite?

    Hoopie! Has to be Escalla!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

No, not an extreme reaction, although he does a good job of making you care as much for some of the more minor characters, like Henry, as much as you do about the main characters.

    Any additional comments?

Read all three if you can. The first is more of a tribute to a classic D&D module, this one introduces the main villain and fleshes out the background for Escalla. The last one is a nonstop high paced action adventure!
