A shot taken....

A new enemy revealed....

Lynn has been rescued from deep within the heart of a night runner lair. The answer to why she was taken remains a mystery. Sandra lies in a pool of her own blood, ending her desperate measures to draw Jack to her. As Red Team celebrates their joy of Lynn's freedom, they are unaware that a sight is centered on them from afar. A bullet tears through the air, streaking their way.

Harold discovers information that stuns the small group of survivors and further threatens their fragile handhold on existence. They have overcome one challenge only to find that a new, more dangerous one replaces it. There's more to this new world than Jack ever suspected.

With only a single team at his disposal, Greg is sent to continue the search for survivors. Separated from the group, and unable to call for help, the small group must journey along lonely and perilous back roads in the hope of finding family members. In the end, Greg must decide between saving others and the safety of his team. Meanwhile, with the crew anxious to get home, Captain Leonard sails down the western seaboard to search for answers as he struggles to come to grips with the world.

The group tries to stay one step ahead, but there's trouble infiltrating from the north. And Michael is stirring from within the depths of his lair.

THIS ONE WAS A BIT DIFFERENT...BUT I LIKED IT!!!

If you could sum up Conspiracy in three words, what would they be?

Interesting, truthful, sad

What did you like best about this story?

I liked the multiple story lines...and really realizing that only Jack's group wants to rescue others...The other groups are only thinking of themselves...and the one group is kind of maniacal....They are dangerous to everyone!

Which character – as performed by Mark Gagliardi – was your favorite?

JACK...do you even have to ask? lol

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Ally....oh how that broke my heart!

Any additional comments?

I am on to book 9 now...This was a bit of a different twist on this tale, and I can see how some people liked it, and some people were on the fence...I happened to have liked it..it really showed the different aspects of what you could expect in an apocalyptic world..People are more dangerous than the night runners are...people can be cruel and selfish...We had another sad loss in this book...and it was really heartbreaking...we also meet some new people...some good, some really bad..and we do see there really is a conspiracy going on..even in an almost empty world, there are people who will vie for control no matter what the cost!

I have read some reviews that did not like the narrator... I like him, he portrays the characters nicely and is entertaining to listen to.

awesome listen!

love the story! listened to the first 7 books and can't wait to get the rest in the series!

John O'Brien has outdone himself with this series. Jack Walker has become one of my favorite characters! Mark Gagliardi really brings the story to life.

Getting better<br />

Jack is on the way back to the Sanctuary in case Robert's bite takes a turn for the worst. Greg and his men are off in search of the soldiers' family. Greg encounters the best of people, surviving, doing what is right and then he encounters the worst of humanity, unfortunately it will envolve one of the soldiers family and a rescue is staged. (possible spoilers) From his infiltration at the CDC and the discs and papers he retrieved Jack has learned about a group that might have been responisble for what happened to the population. Taking control of the resources of the world and what was left of he population, their plans did not include the Nightrunners. But they are still determined to rise out of the ashes and take control but they are not willing to share it with anyone they deem a threat. And Jack has been placed on that very short list. We also learn that the head of their security is an ex Mousad agent and she is very good at her job. Taking over some of the communication sattellites even Capt Leonard is deemed a threat but her attempt to use him against Jack might have backfired. Jack is now coming to terms with what he has learned and the danger he and his people are in but Greg and his team are now a target of the mysterious group and their agent with no way to contact the Santuary for help.

Extremely disappointed in the why!

If you could sum up Conspiracy in three words, what would they be?

Finally get answers, however the generic already done why of the story made me frown. I still love the series and will finish it however!

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

2 major things stick out, the why of the story which I already touched on and the repetiveness of some dialogue. Book after book Jack had the same "I promise I'll stop you from getting experience."

Have you listened to any of Mark Gagliardi’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Just this series but I've enjoyed him from book 1 on. He got a lot of hate in the earlier novels but I felt like he's been spot on the whole time.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Yes, another major death. Both author and narrator do an amazing job of portraying sorrow.

Any additional comments?

Great book and amazing series, I just can't get over the why of it all. I just read this exact same story arc from another big zombie series.

This is the Most Original Series!

Any additional comments?

I can’t believe how original this series is. Just when I thought it had covered remarkably awesome material, John O’Brien goes and surprises me again. What a book!
