Spiritually deep and moving
Not your typical Mike Talbot book but great all the same. This seems to be a darker and profound Tufo book with twists and turns in every chapter. The book keeps you guessing till the end. All I can say about Mike Talbot in this book is "Poor Guy" he just can't catch a break. Don't bother trying to figure out what is going on....you won't know until the end. Just enjoy the ride.

EVERY EMOTION WRAPPED UP IN ONE BOOK!!!!
If you could sum up The Spirit Clearing in three words, what would they be?
Goosebumps, Gut Wrenching Heartache and Spiritual!!!
What did you like best about this story?
The meaning behind it and the way it made you feel and think about your life and what is important. I feel as if I know the human soul better because this book will reach everyone who reads it in some way! It is not a sappy love story or a gore fest but it will make you wonder about the things you can't see with the naked eye and question the things we can see!
What does Sean Runnette bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I have read the book and knew I had to listen to it!!! Sean Runnette IS Mike Talbot!!! The emotions I felt were so much stronger while listening compared to reading the book. I guess it's because I feel as if I know Mike Talbot and I care for his character so hearing the voice I associate with it being him and it pulls at my heartstrings.
Who was the most memorable character of The Spirit Clearing and why?
I am a huge Mark Tufo fan so I have soft spot for all of the characters in his books since they are based around the same people just in different stories. I have to say Mike Talbot anyway because he's AWESOME no matter what he does!!!
Any additional comments?
This book once again proves what a talented author Mark Tufo is!!! Never ( except Stephen King) have I experienced an author who can write a book so well that as soon as I start reading or listening its like I am watching the movie in my head!!!!

Michael Talbot final ordeal
Michael Talbot
He suffered much over the years
he lived through zombie Apocalypse, Vampire hunting, alien invasion and gladiator fights.
but there is one more ordeal he hasn't suffered yet.
PS
I want to thank Mark Tufo for all sadistic ways he thought off over the years to hurt "Michael Talbot"

The other side of Tufo
I must say, this was pretty much a very interesting one. Whilst going through Tufo's work you find that there are two very distinct sides to his write.... The witty, sarcastic, slightly neurotic side that we have come to get used to with Mike Talbot (zombie fallout version) and his gang. There is also this side; a very dark and twisted Mark Tufo who creates books such as these... One thing that combines all Mark Tufo novels I have ever come across is that they're good....
The story itself is an interesting take on the Mike Talbot story. The alternate reality that has been created here provides interesting questions regarding life after death. It gives a more tangible face to death in a sense. You find yourself empathizing with Mike throughout most of the boo, essentially just wanting him to catch a break. The ending is somewhat bitter sweet but also rather fitting when you take into consideration the whole story.

He's done it again! It's gold people!
Would you listen to The Spirit Clearing again? Why?
Now while the characters are the same, not to mention the humor. Love it! The Spirit Clearing is way different, then Zombie Fallout or Indian Hill. Hell the creepy moments in this book made going to the bathroom difficult. Read the book and get the reference! I haven't felt such awe in reading a book by Mark since reading ZF 1. It really add's to the Talbot Multiverse.
What other book might you compare The Spirit Clearing to and why?
Well not really a book. But the movie Memento. Never expected that ending to happen. He really strummed a tale together with this one.
Which character – as performed by Sean Runnette – was your favorite?
Always the great and power Micheal Talbot. Sean is Micheal Talbot. Just like James Marsters is Harry Dresden.
If you could take any character from The Spirit Clearing out to dinner, who would it be and why?
Jandilyn of course. Do I really need to explain this ?
Any additional comments?
Ok people if you haven't fallen in love with Mark Tufo yet. What's to worry get the book. You can return it if you don't like it. Plus do you really wanna miss out on a good read ?

Sad, Happy, Shocked, Then WHAT THE $%@#!!!!!!
From the beginning of this book, Mark Tufo says that this is a different reality, its not the same one as Mike Talbot lived in with the zombie apocalypse. I have assumed that it was just some story regarding Mike before the zombie thing, and I got so confused in the beginning.
The beginning of the book is sad, but you get cheered up when Mike finds a new girl and story gets really good turn, but if you try to figure out whats going on, believe me when i say that, you will never guess until the end of the book.
Mark Tufo has done a great job with this book, its not his typical work, but I agree with other reviewers who said, its a dark book.. felt really bad for our guy here.
Set down, listen to it, and you will like it.
P.S. I advice anyone who wants to read/listen to this book to start first with the zombie series by Mark Tufo so you could understand exactly whats going on, I don't mean the whole series, just the first book at least.

Meandering, Pointless Waste of Time
What disappointed you about The Spirit Clearing?
Alternately boring, sappy, and senseless. The story never seemed to go anywhere. The characters did random things for no apparent reason, then abruptly changed their mind or attitude and did the opposite. SPOILER ALERT: The whole "it never really happened" explanation is totally unsatisfying.
What could Mark Tufo have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
SPOILER ALERT: A whole book that was pretty much a dream, with the abrupt unexplained shifts-in-reality that occur in dreams, is pretty frustrating to read/hear. It's like someone telling you about their wacky nightmare for 9+ hours. For example, the sheriff shows up and is oddly hostile, says some other-wordly creepy things, but then later shows up and is friendly. The main character just accepts this with no question.
I would have liked a story that builds into something more meaningful than, "Oh, you just imagined it." The weak explanation about the young souls not being ready to be collected just makes no sense. The characters can't even make sense of it, let alone the reader/listener.
What about Sean Runnette’s performance did you like?
I thought the narrator did a good job.
What character would you cut from The Spirit Clearing?
The Spirit Clearing itself. It had no meaning to the rest of the story, as far as I can tell.
Any additional comments?
I did enjoy the "smart ass" humor, though at sometimes the jokes were completely out of place with the scenarios.

Depressing
Except for the last few minutes the book was rather depressing. Overall the story was rambling with little plot lines that were never truly resolved in a satisfactory manner. The ending was just too simple, it didn't explain enough of the preceding story.

Not Mike as we know him
Would you consider the audio edition of The Spirit Clearing to be better than the print version?
No idea did not see printed version
What did you like best about this story?
A totally different Mike Talbot story
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes
Any additional comments?
I really really did not want to get this book as i could see it was not Mike Talbot as we know him, but if you take this book as a one off it is really enjoyable. The humour from Mark Tufo in his books really makes them enjoyable. Yes you could guess the ending quite easily but over all it was a book i throughly enjoyed and got into. As a one off book it is good but if you want a Zombie Fallout or Indian hill it is not in that style.

Another triumph from Tufo!
There's no denying I love Tufo's storytelling and his main character, Mike Talbot, is wonderful. This stand alone story is no exception. It's another alternate reality for Mike, Paul and Dennis. This time, life is very different for our wry, dry humoured hero but he remains the same, lovable, faltering hero. It's a much creepier story than any of the others. At one point I was acutely aware that I was home alone, listening in the dark at 1am. I actually got the shivers and spooked myself a little! The ending was beautiful and made me cry.
I love the Zombie Fallout series but this has to come a very close second. Bravo Mr Tufo. Bravo!
As ever, Sean Renette is brilliant in his reading of this tale. He effortlessly brings these brilliant books to life and I cannot imagine listening to Mike Talbot in any other voice.

Pure brilliance!
Listened to this book so many times and never get tired of it! It isn’t the same as the usual Mark Tufo book. Not so much horror but a heart breaking story at times and also edge of your seat too. Can recommend this without hesitation.

A very good read
While it took me a while to get into this book, when I did I found it brilliant. Although I guessed the ending, it didn't detract from the story as it was reveled right at the very end. its a very emotive book, but a very manly book too. I really enjoyed it.

Felt like a cop-out
I’m sorry, I usually love mark’s work but I just didn’t like this. The ending really did just feel like a cop-out.

A good book but not like other Mike Talbot stories
Would you consider the audio edition of The Spirit Clearing to be better than the print version?
Sean Runnette seems to make any story better.
What about Sean Runnette’s performance did you like?
Sean Runnette did a great job with his narration as always. I'm always impressed with his work. I've listened to so many audiobooks and there's some narrators that I really like that encourage me to search for other audiobooks by them. Sean Runnette is number one on my list. He doesn't just read a book, he makes the characters real.
Any additional comments?
I liked it, but it's different to the other Mike Talbot Stories. It felt like more of a stand alone novel, not a Mike Talbot adventure. All the others feel like they are connected. The end made me sad and I felt disappointed for Mike. In the others it feels like things happen for some higher purpose. In this I felt sorry for him. it seemed like he suffered for no reason. I'm used to seeing Mike suffer for something. I'm used to seeing him fighting seemingly insurmountable odds, defeating enemies others can't and surrounded by loyal allies. I felt like Mike was different in this book, but then I realized he couldn't be the same because his experiences weren't the same. I did like the story. It was interesting and I wanted to know what was going to happen. Although I didn't like the ending I don't think it was a bad one. Like I said it made me feel something and that's what a good story is supposed to do.

Uniquely different.
Extremely depressing. Lol
At times I found it changed my moods and I was down and out at home after listening at work.
But that goes to show how well it was written and preformed.
Great job team 👌🏻

great story
excellent story had me at times a bit nervous when I was on an evening walk.
love the take on Marks adaptation of death.
only one con and it's minor:
through the whole book he sees entities and experiences paranormal episodes yet when he is in the house it's almost as if he is oblivious and just writes everything off as "the wind" but the close at the end had me able to look past.
well done Mark and well done Sean.
great read
