The Unites States and China vie for supremacy in the international marketplace as China seeks to become the global leader. A pandemic sweeping across the world send the markets spiraling into chaos, increasing the tension between the two superpowers. Armed conflict needs only a spark. The Worst Worst Worst book

If you are looking for Action on a hot topic concept around a potential war between the US and China … forget it.
It takes 8 chapters before anything happens. The rest is a rehash of newspaper headlines and commentaries to try and set the scene … spare me. All of that could have been written in 1 or 2 chapters at best … My best gift to myself was to return the book and get my Credit back

Fantastic and frightening.

John Obrien does it again. A frightening story which is easy to imagine occurring for real. A well researched story with vivid character's and a terrifying premise we can all imagine. Highly recommend.

very current and credible...

but current administration would not act as boldly as the USA did in this fiction.

The Future Conflict “what if” scenario.

Great take on potential war with Chinese. Not too much tech overload and decent character development. Great listen and can’t wait for book 2 to come out. Narration was very good.

Great Story

I have to say I’m really surprised more people have not reviewed this book.
I thought that it was very relevant to the world today.
If your on the fence about trying this book, don’t be. It’s well worth the credit.
Well done John, I’m really looking forward to the next book.

Love a good WW3 novel.

The use of news briefs to set the stage was better than a dry, "here's the world now." The biggest thing lacking is any character development, however. It's missing that main character to follow along in between wider views. That wouldve added to the shorter page count nicely and made it a bit more worth the money. At least it's not another 5 hour, though.

Disappointed by O'Brien for the first time

This feels like 1/2 half of a book. just starts moving along and then it's over. Disappointing by a author that usually gives you what you want.
